New standard/micro combo PAYG SIM card for 1p including free first class postage, bargain! Tried activating SIM on Orange website but it had already been activated. As I needed a micro SIM for my new phone, I logged onto my Orange account for my old phone and transferred the number to my new SIM. Then put SIM in new phone and worked straight away with my old phone number.
A previous attempt (different SIM) to transfer old phone number had failed as I had first put the SIM in the phone and received a text with the new number. Orange Customer Services had tried to transfer my old number to new SIM but this didn't work.
Most Orange Micro Sim cards for online sale are just full size cards that are chopped down to Micro Sim size. If you just order a PAYG Sim from Orange it will be full size on their site. O2 have the Micro Sim as a cut out in a normal size SIM so you can pop out either size and have an adaptor as well. It is pity that Orange don't do the same design as they dont include an adaptor to transfer your Data from older phones However this official Orange card at the price is far better than a chopped down version
Ths works fine. First of all I put this in an orange MicroSim phne(iphone/Windows Phone/ Nokia N800). This registered the SIM for the UK and the PAYG gets our new number and PIN. Now select package dolphin. Get your Orange pre pay top up plastic payment card and add to your phone using the instructions on the free plastic card. Add £10 GBP to your phone number using the top up card. Send a text "WORLD 1" to Oranger number 6610 and you get 1 day unlimited 3G data useage. Now take SIM out of phone and insert micro SIM into iPad 2. Turn off wireless connection in setting and switch on mobile data and you will see the "EE" sign in the top left and now download iPad app "Your Orange". You will get text messages from EE(Orange) asking you to turn off your ipad and thats ityou are up and running.
IPads do not support text messages or phone calls, for that you still need a phone!
I'm not the most up to date technological person, but my contracted ended with my IPhone on Orange/EE and my 78 year old mum wanted one so she can see her emails, photos etc, hence I got one of these and it worked straight away - no problem no fuss - fantastic and reassuringly simple.
