The protection on them seems OK. Hopefully I won't find out how well it works.
I drive a scooter for my commute within London and wanted a pair of summer gloves. All the other options I found either had limited protection to knuckles, or seemed like they might fall off in the event that I came off the bike.
Thhese gloves have good knuckle protection and the wrap around velcro feels very secure and unlikely to come off in the event of an accident.
Given the price of these compared to other gloves, I'm very happy. Even if they do wear down quickly, I can buy another 5 pairs for the price of some higher priced versions.
The multitouch-supporting fingertips for smartphone use is also handy for the times I use my sat nav.
If I had to nit-pick, it would be that these are a tiny bit too big for my hands.
I bought these in the 'Wolf Brown' colour to use in airsoft, and I really like the colour. It's a proper coyote brown/tan and mixes well with the rest of my arid/tan set, not some bright yellowish colour, which is rare to see from cheaper military-style gear. The finish is also good, the knuckle plate is quite obviously plastic or polymer, but the texture makes it look like carbon fibre, just like real Oakley gloves.
As for build quality, they haven't failed me yet, though admittedly I haven't had them long. They are comfortable and hard-wearing, and the knuckle-plate doesn't crack after hits from BBs(this has happened to me before, with another brand. One BB on the knuckle, and I needed a new pair of gloves). With that being said, even if they aren't all that durable and break after say ten games, I won't complain because of the price tag, as I can quite happily buy a replacement pair without breaking the bank. They also arrived promptly, so again, buying a new pair wouldn't be too sore, as opposed to going for £30+ gloves and having to replace them.
I took the advice of the other reviews and measured my hand before I bought. According to the chart given, my hand is large, which I would have gotten wrong and gone with medium if not, so be wary, and measure. Aside from that, the knuckle-plate sits about a half inch, maybe less, too far down my hand, on the edge between the knuckle and the back of my palm, but that's just because I have long fingers. Even with that, it's far from an uncomfortable fit.
All in all, they are a surprisingly decent quality, low-cost pair of gloves, that look the part, feel the part, and perform their function well. I would buy again, and probably will.
Actually, that packaging says it does offer palm protection, but it's a single skin over the palm made of some kind of rubber, and that doesn't fill me with confidence. No CE marks, or certifications of any kind, either.
