We used the Wichenford for the first time this weekend, after a trial run the previous week, and it's a fantastic tent. We stayed away in Somerset and after a baking day of sunshine on the Friday in which the Wichenford stayed cool and airy the Saturday and Sunday saw torrential rain and some really high winds but the tent was fantastic. There were five of us away and so lots of room both in the bedrooms and in the living area. We've bought a lot of tents in the past but we've never had one before where people were coming up to us and asking us where we'd bought it and commenting on the look of the tent. It is really striking - so much so that the picture on here doesn't do it justice.

If you want a good 8 man tent with lots of features (even the window blinds can be guyed out) and a tent which looks a lot different to anything else on the field then I'd definitely recommend this.

    Dan.

I recently purchased the Wichenford after much searcing for an 8 person tent. I really wanted one with bedrooms either side and this one was the one we settled on. I read a few reviews that seemed to mention defects but none so on the one I received.

We took this tent out for a long weekend with two Adults and 4 kids. Initial pitching was a little tricky and is definately not a 1 person job, but with two people and the tunnel design makes it easy enough, just would ensure there are two adults. There are plenty of sturdy pegs provided, not like with some tents. When the tent is up it looks fantastic and is very spacious. There are air vents all the way around the top letting air circulate around the tent. The poles for the door are also a nice feature allowing you to put up a small porch area.

Inside there is a sewn in groundsheet that covers the entire floor area, we also purchased the carpet which was a brilliant idea and made the whole camping trip much more pleasant. The only downside on the inside is the way the bedroooms door entrances are slightly raised, I would suggest they should look at making these a little lower. One end has two separate bedrooms that can only be assembled as two rooms. It has a plus side that if you don't need both bedrooms this can be extra floor space but is definately two rooms. The other end is a very large 4 person room, which has a separator if you want to make it into two rooms. The rooms are a very good side and this tent, unlike others will take 8 people.

The weather on the weekend was not great, especially on the first night, so we were stuck inside. On the plus side we had 6 deck chairs and a table in the center living space where we had a great nights fun.

BOUGHT FROM AMAZON WAREHOUSE. The tent looked great at first. When we went to put it up it was a different story. The bars were worn and many shattered while we were putting it up, and some of the inner elastic had clearly been cut. There are numerous holes in the outer doors-look like burn marks from sparks or ciggerettes. As for the inner room they are disgusting. Very dirty with some sort of black oily substance in splatters on both rooms and outside wall. FILTHY, olds sweet wrappers and feminine hygiene wrappers inside also. We were totally Disgusted. Did I mention the zip on the bag was not working either. NEVER AGAIN!

Very disappointing. We are experienced campers and have had several different tents previously and none have ever had such weak poles. We have only used this once as upon setting up one of the poles snapped and the others appear very weak and liable to break. Also one of the inner compartments appears to be misshapen and would not zip shut leaving a two foot gap for the mosquitoes to enter!
I shall be requesting a refund.
Otherwise the tent would have been very good, it is a good size, although fitting two single airbeds into the compartments is a very tight squeeze. A real shame that they have scrimped on cheap poles.

For a reasonable price you get a great tent. Just come back from a week away and the tent stood up to the tail end of hurricane Bertha.
We are a family of 5 and the tent is perfect for us, lots of room in the middle section to use our table and chairs, bedroom size is good.
Very waterproof, love the fact you can let down the doorway.
Having had Outwell tents before I would say this is as good quality wise and as lot less expense.

Doors don't close properly, leading to leaks. Don't buy the footprint, whatever you do. It's far too big for the tent, leading to water pooling under the tent and coming up through the bottom. On reflection, a bad buy. Should have paid the extra for an Outwell or something. Really disappointed.
