I bought this to fit my OCZ Agility 3 SSD into a 3.5 inch bay.
It aligns with the screw holes in the OCZ drive. Screws are the only way to secure the drive so I cannot vouch for other manufacturers and if their screw holes align with this adaptor.
It comes complete with screws.
However, I have a Coolermaster CM 690 II case and it has removable 3.5 inch drive bays not requiring screws. I found it awkward to get this bracket to fit properly in one of these. One way around it would be too far forward and you cannot plug an L-shaped SATA cable into the back. The other way around it was too far back and it hangs off the back of the drive bracket so that the cables are a real squeeze at the back.
You might need one, but I was not impressed with it as it is far too fiddly.
