My OCZ ZS-550W arrived this morning (Thursday) having only ordered it Tuesday afternoon.Excellent delivery time.On opening the box the psu just oozes quality,everything about it screams quality.So many connectors its unreal,,I replaced a 750w generic psu,200 watts more than this 550w.I've ran 3dmark 06 and my score is 29 points more than with the generic 750w psu.My cpu fan has increased by 80rpm,Chassis fan increased by 120rpm which means my system is running a lot cooler.I've been repairing computers for 20 years and i can hand on heart say this is a quality piece of kit.PLEASE,take no notice of the Corsair brigade,everything not Corsair is crap according to them.They buy Corsair not because they are any better,its because they are so much dearer cus of the name,and they can tell the world how rich they are cus they bought a Corsair psu.OCZ bought out PC Power & Cooling in 2007 and PC Power & Cooling were without doubt the best psu makers on the planet so it speaks for itself.I've read lots of 1 star comments about this psu and they all have a common denominator.Overclocked cpu and sli/crossfire gpu's.Well as someone who's had 20 years in the business i can say no 550w psu will cope with that lot not even a Corsair.This psu is sleek,oozes quality,virtually silent,and very powerful and with a standard 3 year warentee i can rest assured for 3 years.Very happy bunny is me

took litterally 5 mins to fit nice looking i got this as im gradually doing up my pc as its a stock hp i3 and im planning on a gpu next and the main downfall of a pc is power supply and usually for a psu of this type your looking alot more and this is reasonably priced plenty of connectors enough for anybody, it feels strong looks good and will run any rig however if your planning on doing sli i would recommend a higher watt one as it could struggle even though it says it supports that. but so far no trouble worked right away had it running for like 6 hours at the point of writing this and not a problem. you get what you pay for and when i get a new psu i will be able to sell this for alot more than just some random make thats not marked 80+ you can tell a good psu from the weight and a psu is just as important as your cpu alot of people tend to go cheap on them not realising :)

I personally have very strong feelings on how PSUs are marketed( essentially in a way I feel is deceptive), but I must say this works well for a "650W PSU"( quotation marks cause PSU wattage is mostly meaningless and does not relate to performance but marketing strategies).

I have running on this,
P8P67 mobo,
i5-2500k,
Radeon HD 6870 (I think),
4*2GB DDR 1600MHz cosair ram,
10 count them !) 120mm fans, yes I did just try to capitalise numbers...
a alphacool water pump,
a blu-ray drive.

And it worked fine, currently though it's sharing the strain with a "500W" cosair psu. Just to keep heat away on warm days and gaming.

Stable PSU for a new PC

Built myself a new PC and wasn't sure if my existing 520watt PSU would be up to it so I started window shopping for a new model.

After checking out numerous models, including a more powerful equivalent of the Corsair model I was using, I settled on the 750watt OCZ. Enough juice to future proof, including a future upgrade to my existing Graphics Card. The only drawback to this model is it isn't modular so you have to find somewhere to hide the unused cables, but that was a choice made due to cost constraints so I couldn't knock off any stars for that.

A decent product at a decent price.

There is little more that I can say than the power supply is outstanding and excellent. The box is very nice and protects the unit very well. No dents or scratches.

The unit itself is superb. A nice black coat of paint suits my case very nicely. Being of such a large wattage, the power supply has lots and lots of connectors. I have little use for most of them, but they are nice to have for any future upgrades.
It would have been nice is the unit was modular, but you can't have everything.

Performance is excellent. The unit is super efficient and the cooling fan is very quiet. It has no trouble powering my GTX 770 at full throttle.

Overall, I am very pleased with the unit and would recommend it to anyone.

Bought this after a lot of research for my gaming rig. Was undecided between 550, 650 or 750...but in the end settled for the middle ground. Some spare power is always good!
Has been powering my rig since Dec. GTX 780 + i7 4770K with no issues
Completely silent.

Only complaint is the power cables are quite thick and not too long. But I knew that when I opted for a non modular one so no stars reduced from the product.

Can't say better than great build quality and practically silent in use. This is second OCZ 80+ (that is 80% plus efficiency) PSU I have had. PSU fails are rare but not unheard of and both of these have never let me down. Both on performance high end machines.

Oh and you will find the power connectors themselves a step above the norm in terms of quality - you can't imagine how many hard drive 'errors' and PC 'slowdowns' are simply due to poor power connectors. Pay that bit more - these OCZ's are work it!
