This book really does make pharmacology easier to understand particularly for nurses or indeed anyone undertaking a V300 course as all of the pharmacology areas included in the V300 are explained in a very straight forward and uncomplicated manner. This fundamental understanding really helps when lecturers move on to more complex areas as a point of interest.
It is an absolute boon and a book I intend to keep for reference even when my course has been completed. Definitley recommended.
This textbook is very useful if like me you have no drug knowledge what so ever at the beginning of your Nursing course! Its a practical guide to drugs used in nursing, it tells you the drug type, how it effects the body and side effects the client might encounter and its all pretty simple to read and understand! If you use it in conjunction with the latest BNF your guaranteed good results! I used it before my last set of medication examinations and I found that it helped me understand the drugs so much better! I'd recommend to buy if your a nursing student! Very Helpful!
Very good book as a practical introduction to drugs used in nursing. The book is arranged into chapters based on drugs for areas of the body, e.g. asthma drugs, gastro-intestinal drugs. Each drug has details set out very clearly for the effects on the body, effects on the drug of metabolism, all in an easy read format. I'll be taking this to keep for brief checks in between shifts.
This is a really good resource. It explains pharmacology in terms students understand and highlights important things that students need to remember. I have recommended the student nurses that I teach get an e-copy for themselves.
Good book for new, experienced and future nurses. If you are a nurse who is trying to review or refresh your knowledge on Nursing Pharmacology this is a good book. For new nurses or student nurses, this is a good review book along side a more detailed and in-depth Pharmacology reference book.
