Product Description

Cure condensation dampness and remove allergens and pollutants from the home with the low- energy ventilation system from the inventors of PIV. The Drimaster offers cost-effective whole home ventilation for two and three story homes with lofts. The Drimaster offers cost-effective ventilation for the whole property using the tried and tested Positive Input Ventilation (PIV) principle where fresh filtered air is introduced into the home at a continuous rate encouraging movement of air from inside to outside. This process removes condensation allergens such as dust mites and the pollutants caused by cooking and cleaning from the air. The results are a fresh and healthy indoor environment in which condensation and mould cannot exist and where indoor pollutants including harmful Radon gas are kept to a minimum - all great news for allergy sufferers. The Drimaster is a low-energy whole home ventilation is easy to install and cheap to run. Fitted in the loft out of site and with no holes to knock through walls the non-disruptive installation makes it an ideal solution for retro-fit projects. Features & Benefits: Cures condensation dampness - PIV removes humidity from the air preventing mould growth and controlling dust-mite allergens. Improves indoor air quality - indoor pollutants from cooking and cleaning are removed while outdoor pollutants including traffic fumes pollen and Radon gas are kept out. Meets Regulations - meets Part F & L of Building Regulations as a low-energy ventilation strategy. Extremely low power consumption - costs around 1p per day. Easy installation and very low maintenance - filter clean or replacement every five years Fixed heat recovery - minimises loss of heat in the loft by recirculating the air saving energy. System standby in summer months - when the loft temperature exceeds 23C. Health benefits - clinically proven to help allergy and asthma sufferers. 5 year warranty - for peace of mind.

The Nuaire Drimaster clears condensation and freshens the air like magic.
The problems we had in our 3 bedroom bungalow, were condensation on the W.C. (in fact we had to put a towel on the floor to catch the drips) and condensation on the windows in the morning, the windows in the bedrooms in use being the worst.
The problems seemed to get worse when we had better sealed doors and windows fitted.
I fitted a vent in one of the bedroom windows but this did no good.
I was a bit unsure if I had made a wise move when the Drimaster unit arrived, it was a lot bigger than I expected.
I had to get some heating pipes moved so I could fit the vent outlet in the centre of the hall ceiling.
The hole I had to cut in the ceiling for the vent seemed massive (235mm diameter).
I was worried, after all this work, is this unit going to work and give me dry windows in the morning.
I needn't have worried, once the Drimaster was fitted and up and running even at the slowest speed the effect of the ventilation was truly amazing, the condensation on the toilet water closet which had been a problem, dried up in no time and the next morning the windows were as dry as a bone. The air in house seems fresher as well.
There is very little noise from the motor and no unpleasant draught from the vent outlet as it discharges across the ceiling.
So, I am very happy with the Nuaire Drimaster positive ventilation unit.
I've decide after some consideration to give it 5 stars even if the vent unit could have been a bit more attractive, it is off white and has a matt finish and looks a bit utilitarian for a domestic situation.
A further note. The Drimaster has been running for a quite a while now and I have been doing a bit of painting and decorating and noticed that the paint fumes clear much quicker than they used to, so that's an extra bonus.

Nuaire Drimaster Condensation Ventilation Loft Unit.

We moved into our detached 2 bed 1950 built bungalow (with brick walls inside - only plasterboard is the ceilings, with floor boarding) 3 winters ago. We have never had problems with condensation in any other property. It seemed each winter the problems got worse and worse.

We have had various people round to check damp course/proofing loft insulation, cavity walling, even had our windows checked, every air brick is free flowing and unblocked. The condensation was running down every window as if a bucket of water had been thrown at them, would go through a towel per window, plus moping the window cills up, we had drips coming off the ceiling and along top of the walls - particularly a problem in our bedroom and front room (lounge) which are both north facing, not to mention having to pull the beds away from walls and checking behind wardrobes for mildew on the back of them, not one professional could give us any reason for the excessive condensation we had, Also our toilet cistern used to be coated in a mist of condensation all the way up to where the water level stopped - and i had to put kitchen paper on the floor to mop up the drips.

We spent a lot of money last year with extra fan heaters and also a De-humidifier. The de-humidifier was next to useless even though we brought quite a big and expensive model(De-Longhi) - as it cuts out when the tank is full, I can remember having to empty it 2 or 3 times during a day. Plus it was very thirsty on electric and also very noisy. I even brought a karcher window vac to help make it easier for removing the moisture - sometimes as soon as i had cleared the window, more condensation would appear!!!

Like the others on here - we were getting really bad damp. We have a three bedroom house and every morning the windows were soaking wet. Mould grew on the metal frames, and spread to the plaster and it was ruining the walls and the curtains. We had to wash them off on a regular basis but it never stopped forming, no matter what we left open or for how long.

We bought the Drimaster and I installed in the loft. I hung it from a rafter with the included cord, and wired it into the loft light. For the first day we didn't notice much difference but then the condensation just disappeared. Despite using the bathroom as normal, and not opening the doors / windows any more than normal, and through cold and wet snaps, the windows were dry and stayed dry. The mould is starting to die off and I imagine the next time I clean it off, it will stay away.

The unit is quiet - there's a barely-audible rumble if you're near the loft hatch - and it's on the default "3" speed setting. Installation was easy (I just cut a hole in the loft hatch and installed it into that - it works fine, even with all the upstairs doors shut). It doesn't make the downstairs any colder than normal but the upstairs corridor feels cooler, a bit like having a bathroom window open all the time which is exactly how it works. There's a gentle breeze coming from the vent if you put your hand up to it, but you can't feel air movement otherwise.

It's not a cheap solution but a damn sight cheaper than scraping mould off walls and repainting, or replacing all the windows. The neighbours are now interested in buying one the same in their house, which is a mirror-image of ours.
