Review

After having read Elsie Brown’s first book I was very anxious to read her second book.  I was not disappointed.  Elsie has reminded us that God has a very special job for us to do.  After accepting Christ as our Savior, the next step is to let Him lead us and He will show us the path we are to take. Elsie discovered Christ at a young age and has never stopped following Him. Joan Lund

Wow, I finally got the rest of the story. What a journey of grace, grit and love.  Couldn’t put it down until I finished it. Eva Cook

A shining torch for a journey through the darkest valley to the glorious sunrise of the mountain top. David Cook

Elsie Brown captures the heart and circumstances as she tells stories of her life as she tries to live within the constant joys and struggles to seek a balance of home, family, church and working. She listens so that she can hear the voice of God speaking gently to her and reaches out to others in prayer and reaffirmation of her own spiritual journey. I find Elsie’s books reflective, personal and a joy to read.  Rosalie Blackburn

What an inspirational book! God is faithful to help us through all of the challenges we face, if we keep our eyes and trust on Him. We honor God by walking through our adverse circumstances with joy to accomplish His plan and purpose in our lives. Elsie Brown has proven she has walked this journey with grace and dignity and a solid faith that He is always in control. Esther Eilene Bailey

About the Author

Elsie Brown was born at home in Indianapolis, Indiana and still makes her home there. She was the 7th child in a family of ten children. She was born into one family and raised in another, the only child not raised by her birth parents. She is an accomplished pianist, was a church organist at the age of twelve and active in the music department of her church for over sixty years. She is an artist and paints in oils, acrylics and watercolors. She is the author of "Out of Appalachia". The book chronicles the life of the uncle who took her into his home, his time in the First World War and her life from childhood to her first marriage. She has one living son, one deceased and five great-grandchildren. She has three stepsons, three stepdaughters, eleven step grandchildren and twelve step great grandchildren. She earned a degree as an LPN and nursed three husbands as they finished their journey on earth. She was honored to be chosen of God for such a calling.
