Man Booker winner George Saunders states that the author is a 'genius' (a word he doesn't use lightly) and whilst I'm often wary about fellow author's comments, I would have to agree.
The opening story 'Cold Little Bird' gets the experience off to a cracking start and with the high bar set early,Marcus maintains a very high standard of work.
I was frequently left open-mouthed and experienced a whole gamut of emotions including both of the squirming and hilarious kind.
I recommend this book highly and will certainly be checking the author's earlier work.
