If you intend to buy a guide to the Norfolk Broads this is THE one to buy.

The book is well laid out tourist information in the first half, with the second half taken up with maps and very importantly a simple but effective system showing, moorings, water points and other vital information.

I bought two other guide books and an OS Map before visiting the area, but this guide was in constant use. The ease of use and the wire bound format with a flap containing a key etc, which also helps to keep the relevant pages to hand makes it a well thought out and very informative reference.

A deserved 5 stars!

We found this book very useful, we have been on the Broads before. Ideal for people who have not been on a boating holiday, gives lots of advice on what and what not to do on boating in general.

I have yet to use when on holiday but it would seem to address many of the problem areas for first time visitors to the Broads. The area is crying out for the type of information regarding the basics e.g.water points etc. that are available to users of the canal system. This goes some way towards fulfilling this need.

Useful for all sorts of information, places to go, hire shops, activities etc. It does contain maps but they are not as detailed or as easy to use as the O/S map of the Broads which I also purchased for my holiday, I'd recommend both for a complete guide, but if you only get one, get the O/S Map, if you don't know the area its much more helpful.

This book looks similar to the Nicholson canal books. However, it's not quite as detailed. It's OK, it give me the basic information I needed, it's just not quite as detailed and comprehensive as other books in their series. I will still need to buy another guide book on the Broads. That's not normally the case with other waterways.

I was a tiny bit disappointed with this book. I perhaps expected a more comprehensive "lonely planet" type guide to the area, giving more info about the towns and cities like Norwich, and places of interest and the like. The book does contain some very limited info for the tourist, but it is mainly aimed at the first time boat hirer giving lots of useful rookie level info about getting around in a hired boat. Having said that, it wasn't expensive and the maps in the back are excellent, with small nuggets of advice thrown in all over the place, which you don't get with the OS map (which I also bought). Id probably give this 3.5 stars if halves were allowed.

This is a good general guide but didn't have the detail l had expected.. Lots of sections but the maps /charts were too small scale so we used the 0S 25000:l map in preference. Much better than nothing, of course.
