This is a fun counting book for young children, which helps explain the concept of zero. As always, with Oliver Jeffers, the illustrations are very humorous. During the book the Huey’s count from one to ten and then put everything together. When you take it all away, you get none. My nephew found the story very funny and enjoyed this a lot; plus he learnt an important concept from the book.

An absolutely fantastic book which has allowed my school children (reception and year 1) as a class to gain more appreciation of the "number before 1". An excellent way of introducing the concept of 0. Can't wait to use it this year again in the new term.

The Hueys have tackled being different and the same, now they tackle something and nothing. I adore the philosophical scope of these books and this one has a couple of laugh out loud moments, but just doesn't quite hit the mark. If you live Hueys then add it to the collection. If you are new to them, then get The New Jumper first.

As with all Oliver Jeffers books, this is wonderfully illustrated and the humour helps keep the interest of adults and children alike, but here the subject matter is quite narrow: the fact that zero (irritatingly called none throughout) is a number. As such it is very short and is a cute but basic counting book covering the numbers from 0 to 10, and does not compare well with Jeffers' story books such as Lost and Found or The Heart and the Bottle.

A great book, but very basic, so not that educational for a child over 3.5 yrs. My nearly 4 year old daughter loves it (as she loves all books and we read 5-10 books EVERY evening), but she is a little too smart for it now as no longer learning anything new from it. I would say best age is 2-3.5yrs. Otherwise a lovely book, beautiful illustrations and some great humour just as expected from the author.

Our 2 year old loves this book. It's a really fun and different way to teach the concept of numbers. We love Oliver Jeffers' other books but this is the first' Hueys' book we have read. Definitely worth buying.

My two young children (just 3 and nearly 5) absolutely love this book. We're massive fans of Oliver Jeffers, his style and sense of humour are so appealing to young children. Super maths element is a bonus!

a brilliant storyline beautifully illustrated. Maybe I liked it more than the 3 year old whose birthday it was but she loved counting the oranges, the blue telephone etc
