A good midd-priced phone, solid, well made, and very easy to use. And yes, the maximum ring volume is very low. Go for the black version, it's much the nicer looking of the two. The supplied selection of ringtones is prety naff. Mine was purchased unbranded direct from Nokia, but it still came with lots of pre-installed junk that it is impossible to delete. e.g. Internet Bookmarks to Nokia, Facebook etc. The default Web-browser works ok if rather slowly. The supplied Opera Mini browser App doesn't work. This is a good and vary fast browser so I wanted to delete it and install the latest version. But the Delete option in the App Manager is greyed-out. I feel somewhat annoyed that it is my phone but I do not have control over what is installed on it.
Beware Nokia Customer Care. In my experience it is staffed by androids speaking in strange american(ish) accents, who don't actually seem to know much about their products. Also the Nokia Online ordering process cannot cope if you happen to have a middle name that you choose not to use, it kept cancelling my order at the security check stage. I was third time lucky by making sure that every name was entered. My advice would be to stick to ordering via Amazon in future! I bought the QUBITS Black Classic Pouch Case and 4GB SanDisk micro SD card from Amazon, both are excellent value.
