Tripod Mount for Nokia 808 Pureview
Top Customer Reviews
Without a cover, the 808 Pureview will remain in the mount, but when moving the tripod with the phone in the mount, you have to be extremely careful, as it can pop out easily.
It is possible to use this tripod mount for some other mobile phones also, but anything much beyond the width of the 808 Pureview, and the mount will show signs of strain.
All in all it is a good idea, but a more secure grip of the phone while in the mount could be provided with very simple modifications, so it is not as good as it could be.
If i remove the case i have and mount the phone it feels a little more secure but i'd still like some more reassurance, especially when the device costs a bit, i feel it is a little insecure - also remembering the price of the phone it holds i would like it to feel - secure.
All in all though this does what it is intended for - unfortunately you still have to buy your own tripod as there is no package deal.
Perhaps since Nokia are going down the route of best camera-phone - they can just drill in a mount directly to the casing or have 2 small holes and develop a stand that 'clips' the phone on.
I'd pay £15-£20 for a Nokia clip-in/clip-on tripod if the phone supports directly clipping in to it.
*Hint Hint Nokia*
Since bought a similar item by a company called something like 'Joby' similar price but very sterdy with vital parts made of metal and hard plastic.
True it would have lasted longer if the dog hadn't have knocked the tripod, but really it was only a matter of time...
