This tripod mount is an excellent idea. It has a reasonable hold on the phone, but does not offer much in terms of depth, so when used with any of the spurious cases, or Nokia's own CC-3046 case, it is unlikely that the phone will remain securely in the mount.

Without a cover, the 808 Pureview will remain in the mount, but when moving the tripod with the phone in the mount, you have to be extremely careful, as it can pop out easily.

It is possible to use this tripod mount for some other mobile phones also, but anything much beyond the width of the 808 Pureview, and the mount will show signs of strain.

All in all it is a good idea, but a more secure grip of the phone while in the mount could be provided with very simple modifications, so it is not as good as it could be.

There is not a whole lot you can say about an item like this, it does do what it says, but it is basically a spring mounted bracket - price for this should be cheaper considering all it does and if you have a case on the 808 it doesn't hold it as well as i would have expected - it does still hold it but a little looser. I would have preferred a little more depth for the phone to sink in to, so i could feel confident it would hold instead of just knowing it is - if that makes sense.

If i remove the case i have and mount the phone it feels a little more secure but i'd still like some more reassurance, especially when the device costs a bit, i feel it is a little insecure - also remembering the price of the phone it holds i would like it to feel - secure.

All in all though this does what it is intended for - unfortunately you still have to buy your own tripod as there is no package deal.

Perhaps since Nokia are going down the route of best camera-phone - they can just drill in a mount directly to the casing or have 2 small holes and develop a stand that 'clips' the phone on.

I'd pay £15-£20 for a Nokia clip-in/clip-on tripod if the phone supports directly clipping in to it.

It's ok for the purpose, although it could be a lot more safer with bigger lips on ot. If you use it in a stationary position and not moving around it will be fine though.

The tripod mount is one of the hardest accessories to get your hands on for the 808 Pure View, so thanks Amazon. Been using it with a full size tripod on a quick release plate as well as the Jobbi Gorillapod.

Average quality, was a little concerned how long it was going to last looking at the vital parts being made of plastic, first time I used it with to hold an iPhone 5 a dog knocked over the tripod and both of the plastic ends snapped off.
Since bought a similar item by a company called something like 'Joby' similar price but very sterdy with vital parts made of metal and hard plastic.
True it would have lasted longer if the dog hadn't have knocked the tripod, but really it was only a matter of time...
