4.0 out of 5 stars I've had the phone 6 months 15 Jan. 2015

Nokia really went all out with this phone. The camera is phenomenal and takes outstanding daylight and low light pictures pictures; but there's probably thousands of reviews raving about the camera. Battery life is fairly good, I get about 4 days out of it with battery saver turned on and little use and about 9hrs of heavy use (lots of videos and games etc); the camera eats of the battery but I'd expect that with the quality of photos and film. The 32GB memory is ample for me as all of my music is on Spotify but with a lot of locally stored audio film the memory may become an issue especially without an SD card slot. The overall usability of the phone is fantastic, I've come from a long line of windows phones and its by far my favourite OS. The only problem I have with this phone it very occasionally becomes buggy (some apps won't load, screen zooms to certain point etc) this happens very rarely and is always solved by a reboot but still it can happen at annoying times. Overall pros: Camera, Battery, OS and Size. Cons: Lens sticks out, no SD card slot and sometimes buggy.

5.0 out of 5 stars A DSLR in your pocket! 6 Dec. 2013

You can't get a better camera on a smartphone. Plain and simple!

As for Windows Phone 8, it rocks!!! supersmooth, superfast and very efficient.

I was also amazed on how well the battery lasts compared to my previous smartphones!

Superb!

great phone for linking office documents on Windows Surface, via OneDrive & OneNote apps, allows access to all my stuff at any time. Here Maps and Here Drive+ downlaodable maps allow sat nav function without using data when travelling, brilliant.
Camera takes great HD pictures and automatic upload to OneDrive means that even if you lose the camera when travelling, any photos up to that point will still be accessible when you get home. Only minus point is that you cannot expand memory beyond the 32GB built in as it does not take SD card, small criticism, but would otherwise be 5 stars. Limited range of apps from Windows ( I cannot get Barclaycard App which I previously had on I Phone ), also an achilles heel, but may improve

5.0 out of 5 stars Great phone 15 Oct. 2014

The phone arrived 2 days after purchase.
First of all this phone is big. Bigger than I had expected but I don't mind that,. The Windows 8 is slick and fast. I recommend that you by a cover for this phone as soon as possible as it is quite slippery.
I should also add that this is a quite sturdy and strong phone. It has hit the floor twice (slipped out of my hands) without anything happening what so ever.

Having this phone for about 5 months now & finally being upgraded to Windows 8.1 it is fair to say that this is an excellent alternative to Android & IOS.
Yes the app store does lack the quality & of official apps but there are many 3rd party apps that cover most of the well known apps.
As a mobile phone, calling quality is clear, speaker is loud. The screen is so responsive the OS is so smooth.
The camera is hands down the best on the market.
The points of cons: The battery life isn't as strong as other phones where it'll need to be charged everyday without fail. The build even tho beautiful it is prone to not take bumps so well. The OS even tho very smooth it is limited compared to Android. But offers more then IOS.
No micro card expansion. I find myself filling up the memory very quickly with music, recorded high quality video & photos. Make sure to back up regularly.

This is foremost a camera phone which I use all the time. But as for phone functions? It doesn't shout out innovation but it does bring a smooth enjoyable experience when linked to your Windows pc.

4.0 out of 5 stars easy to use great phone but some negatives 19 May 2016
By wendt1
I have had 3 lumias and like them all. Has everything you could need and easy to use. Had problems with screen going black once pressed dial so struggled I need to press a number during call. Also certain apps do not work on this phone as they are only made for iphone and certain websites like photobox say the phone isn't compatible to upload photos
