It's a USB battery pack, it's well made, and it works.
As of the time of writing (2015) this is now a very old pack which is very expensive and under powered compared to other newer models from both nokia (microsoft) and brands.

However, it is smaller than most and does have one relatively unique feature that if you need it is a godsend: Almost all modern battery packs will if they detect no appreciable draw on the battery go into a standby mode and stop providing power to save the battery, and can then only be woken up either by pressing a button or unplugging/replugging the USB cable.
This pack however does not do so, and will keep supplying whatever minimal amount of power is being drawn indefinitely - If you're looking for a pack for embedded hobby projects using a raspberry pi/arduino or similar and need a supply into which you can plug your device and have it start providing power by turning the device itself on (rather than having to use a button on the battery pack itself) this is exactly what you're after, it's precisely what I needed.

Having been caught out several times whilst out and about and no battery charge left on my phone I brought this as a backup. It is easy to use, light, slim and stylish. It will provide a full charge from flat for my Nokia 620. I also have an adaptor to charge my wife’s iPhone making it doubly useful. Delivery was quick, I am delighted with my purchase.

When I connect this onto my HTC One, it only gives approx 50% charge, and the battery capacity of my HTC is around 2,000mA. So, I'm guessing the real capacity on these is around half of which is advertised. Never the less, these are very handy to have, especially when you're out and about, and know your battery will die sooner or later. Sometimes & potentially a serious life safer!

I would have given 5 stars if it did fully charge my phone, and not mislead!

I bought this charger when the Nokia 808 Pureview first launched, to provide myself with a backup power supply during periods of heavy use (when out taking a lot of pictures generally). It hasnt failed since, and delivers almost a 100% charge every time to the 808 Pureview.

Small, easy to use, and very dependable. The longest that I have gone after charging the DC-16 fully without discharging it was 4.5 weeks, and it still managed to deliver an almost 100% charge, even after that length of time.

Since I purchased my DC-16, I have also purchased one as a present for a family member who uses it with his Samsung Galaxy S3. He has the exact same experience to report of it, and uses it a lot more frequently than me. In fact, since he first charged it, he says that cannot get through a day without it, and that it has saved him having to be tied to a plug socket in the middle of every day in order to keep working - this is probably the biggest plus of the DC-16.

If you don't have one already, you should! Buy this now!

I have had this item for over 2 years now, and I am still amazed at how well it holds a charge.
I can charge this thing up and leave it in a bag until I urgently need the power - and sometimes I just expect it to be empty because I haven't touched it in so long - but no, it has always retained at least 3 lights (out of 4) and given me more than enough power to get me back home or to a charger.
I think it was well worth spending more on this device than much cheaper ones. I have had experiences with these and they just do not hold the charge. This also looks good in the process.
I always take it with me if travelling and I think I could be away from power for a long time. It gives me the peace of mind that I can get power into my phone (or even other devices sometimes) if I need to.

In this day and age, it doesn't hold that much power compared to the full batteries of smartphones, and due to the amount of current (I think) needed to top up a battery, it isn't always easy to charge up as much as you would expect. However, this being a good consistent and quality battery means that you are more likely able to charge your device when lesser quality power sticks can't.

Good customer service - prompt response and prompt delivery but we wew let down by this portable charger and returned it for refund! It fails to FULLY charge our smartphone Nokia Lumia 520 although, we note, this particular charger was "designed for ....Nokia Lumia 520, ..." etc. We made sure the DC-18 had been fully charged in the first place and then it was connected to Lumia 520 but the power of the DC-18 was drained BEFORE the phone was fully charged. We made four attempts and each time our phone was charged only up to about 50-65%.
By thhe way, Nokia describes it as "a top-up charger". It is a slim, compact size charger and seems to be somewhat limited in capacity.

Positives. Compact small and no faffing as the wire is attach to it and is retractable. Very easy.
Negatives. Says 1720 mah but seems to be about 1500mah in terms of charge i get. Takes quite long to charge as well however some people saying it charges fast so dunno.
Bottom line, worth its money and handy little product.
