Excellent value for money

I thought the battery supplied with my 5800 was failing which was a bit annoying as the phone was quite new.

Before I discovered the real reason* I found these and they were cheap. So bought three on the basis that it was worth a punt.

Once I fixed the real reason the charge life of the original battery was restored to normal and, contrary to other reviews, testing my replacements (now just sitting there for when my original dies) showed no difference in charge storage life. They might, of course, have fewer recharge cycles but at three for around 50% of the original price, they are going to have to be seriously substandard before I complain.

They look genuine to me, and when I checked the battery numbers on the Nokia website they came back as genuine. Though if you can forge a hologram, you can forge a serial number. I don't find it credible that Nokia would do nothing if Amazon was allowing passing-off (as suggested by other reviewers here).

*the bit you've been waiting for: a website somewhere suggested check the battery contacts, if they're in need of a tweak battery life plunges. No I didn't believe it either.

We have a Nokia 5800 which is a briliant altenative to the I-phone and which is half the price, however as we spend a lot of time out and about, sometimes for days, we bought this battery so that we have a spare as the Nokia guzzels power like its going out of fashion especially if you are using WAP GPS or Bluetooth, we also bought a car charger to go with it (see my other reviews).

Be careful though because if you should buy a battery that looks like a Nokia genuine unit and it is not, your phone will not work, that is unless it is an older model and has not had updated software installed. Always buy genuine.

Good replacement battery, better than the one supplied with the phone. However, still has very limited life within the phone. This may be more a problem with the heavy demands of the phone we using rather than a fault with the battery. Increasing the capacity of the battery seems a sensible approach but then again it probably is limited by the physical size of the phone. Overall, a better battery than the one supplied but still limited. Very quick delivery and a good price.

Think ive had it for a few months now,I find I have to charge it more often than the original one..But at least I can use my phone..

This really seems to be hit and miss - the return window having closed and the recipient not being entirely clear if he needs a new phone, battery, upgrade, sim, or reset - all we know is that the phone drains power very quickly and the new battery is actually no better than the one we have replaced.

It was an attempt at a cheap fix... best start saving and selling off my things to buy him a new phone... oh well.
