I was working underneath my car the other day while on "Hands FREE", the phone just sat beside me on the ground. (with perfect reception both ways). 5/5.
Whatever, 'Sim Card' you put in (a part from the 3 network) it will work perfectly...
More important, is the "fabulous (1) week average battery Life..." which is a breeze, saves one having to recharge every other day, (this is much more common with smart-phones with bigger CPU's and much bigger LCD screens, which really drain the battery).
I just was so, impressed with the price I bought another one this morning for an Xmas present to my Girl.
I think Nokia got all the important spec's correct, at the right price point, like I own an 'HTC Desire', so I'm not too fussed if I loose this one, its really just a spare. 'Great reception BTW'.
It's got rubber type gripping at the edges, the Phones fits like a GLOVE in ones hand, it will NOT slip nor slide, its just a Fab Phone at a Fab Price, if you don't need internet, BUY this NOKIA 1616.
+Plus its SIM FREE Which means it never needs unlocked, so you can use, o2, Vodafone, Virgin, T-mobile, Orange, Tesco, etc. and others.!

I'd recommend anyone to buy this little gem. Here's hoping Nokia continue to make these things and not be seduced by the Dark Side (fancy gadgets etc!)
easy to use and the screen is larger than on my old Nokia. If you are expecting all the pips and squeaks you won't get it, but is great value for money. I would recommend it to anybody looking for an inexpensive, functional
I did have problems fitting the sim card. The instructions and diagrams are not great in the users handbook so
of course I inserted the sim in the same way I had in my old mobile. This didn't help and I kept getting the message
'Insert Sim'. I contacted Amazon who were absolutely brilliant and said the phone must be faulty and they would
replace it. The second phone arrived promptly but to my dismay the same thing happened. I took it to a
friendly neighbour who discovered the correct way to insert the sim and the phone worked. I was really pleased
but I would tell you to make sure that you place the sim card under the little metal plate. This is not at all
clear in any of the instructions.
Apart from that I am a very happy bunny. I am also impressed with Amazon. They couldn't have been more helpful
and their staff went beyond the call of duty. It is hard to find companies like that these days. Thank you Amazon.
The phone itself was very neat and initially I was pleased until I tried to use it. It kept telling me 'No Network' Went into my local town and asked the child in a phone shop what I was doing wrong. Apparently nothing wrong, should be working and sure enough full signal. When I returned home again 'No Network' so it appears that despite my old Nokia working the new one just couldn't pick up any signal. I experimented in about a mile radius and it was the same. I returned the phone and got a full refund (excellent service)
Google searches suggested that this phone does not have a terribly good antennae and if your signal tends to be a bit weak or unreliable then this phone is probably not going to be the one for you.
Incidentally my old phone has dried out sufficiently and started working!!
