Life isn't meant to be monochrome, so add a splash of colour. The bright, changeable covers and vibrant 1.8 inch colour display set it apart from other phones, so you can talk and text in style. Stop planning your life around power outlets, give the Nokia 106 a full charge and you'll be able to go a month without needing to top up. The dust and splash-proof new keymat means the Nokia 106 can withstand anything life throws at it, and the characters on your keys won't fade, no matter how long you use them for.

I do have a few other phones, including a budget samsung (which is similar in price to this)
Overall impressions are pretty good, for the outlay it's quite a good choice. The battery is quite outstanding, lasts for weeks without a charge.
My conclusions good/bad are:
+ Well priced, good cost effective simple phone
+ Build is quite good really at this price plastics are solid enough and the screen doesn't feel vulnerable to damage
+ Cracking battery life, Nokia quote max standby of 35 days I find I charge it about every 2-3 weeks which is excellent
+ Screen is quite clear and easy to read (even in brighter light), it's a simple 1.8" 160 x 128, with 65k colours (114 ppi) display
+ Has a radio and a built in torchlight
+ Keypad is dust and splashproof (not waterproof) and I can say in use I have not had any issues despite the odd bit of rain at times hitting the keypad. It doesn't pick up dirt either and feels responsive to the touch
+ Call quality is good I find the sound clear and the mic quite acceptable (nobody has complained they can't hear me)
- No camera, nothing at all.Read more ›
If you're like me, and like a camera to be a camera, a phone to be a phone (for calls and texts and not much more), and a computer/tablet for accessing the internet, than this is a highly recommended phone.
Very easy to set up, the flashlight is a great added bonus, easy to use (I got to grips with all it does in 5 mins). Clear screen, easy to use buttons. It basically does what it's supposed to do - be a phone with a few added bonuses.
For info, the 105 and 106 are just about identical, apart from the 105 having a smaller screen, making it a slightly smaller phone, and the 106 being harder to get the back off to insert the sim/battery. I had the back of the 105 in seconds, but have to confess, had to look on YouTube to find out how to get the back of the 106. But once I knew, it was pretty simple, just a bit more fiddly. the keypad itself is idential on both models.
Hope this helps, but if all you want is a straight forward, simple to use phone, for texts and phone calls, than this is a great bargain.
It's simple and easy to use, for those who just want a phone for calling and texting it's perfect. The keypad is clear and the screen is good with text that you can enlarge if you struggle to see small font.
At the end of the day this is a phone for those who just want the basics and Nokia have got this device right. The big difference with this phone compared to other basics devices is that this has amazing battery! Well worth considering if its basics with great battery life you are looking for.
After using the phone for 2 weeks now I can say the following good/bad points about it:
Good: *Relatively good battery life (with intermittent use throughout the day for phone calls and occasional texts & listening to the radio 1 hour daily - the phone battery lasted me 1 week on a full charge)
*Cheap (got this phone at a well-known supermarket unlocked for less than the Amazon price)
*OK call quality (not exceptional, has a bit of distortion if you have a deeper voice but for this price I'm not complaining)
*Features - even at this price point, you get a handy radio & built-in LED torch (you turn it on by pressing the 'up' key on the D-pad twice on the home screen and turn it off by subsequently pressing the up key again), the torch isn't massively bright but good if you need to quickly find something in the dark. You also get a couple of classic games such as Snake
*Decent-sized screen (at 1.Read more ›
