This album is insane. Every song is great. The guitars are amazing. The Human Abstract teeter on the brink of the most crushing metal and can still pull it back and be as melodic as any band out there. The songs are well structured and well written. The follow up to this album Midheaven is nowhere near as good as this one. They have had a different lineup for all of their albums (including a possible 2010 release). I'm hoping they can pull it together and capture the magic of this album. Select Tracks: "Mea Culpa", "Crossing the Rubicon", "Vela (Together we await the storm)".

I heard this band on Hard Attack (Sirius Radio) and did a rare thing; ran to my computer and bought this CD. This is guitar intensive work, heavily on classical influences, the Yngwie Malmsteen legacy, for those who are old enough to recall him. It is heavy, a mix of agressive voals and more operetic...laced with classical guitar intros, and blazing solos and riffs. The songs are quite good, track 3 being the most catchy. Looking forward to their future works.

Not an album for everyone but for those that like a bit of metalcore or what ever its called these days I strongly recommend this, I love the lyrics and the Guitar work and drumming are outstanding. The vocals are also very good, although not something everyone will like(fair bit of screaming).
