I did love the emotion brought out through Ryder's struggles with PTSD though. It was heart-wrenching and painful to realise that it's all too common.
I have a huge amount of love for this series overall though so I'm just going to treat this story as a minor blip in an otherwise perfect series.
I guess im settling for 3 stars since for most of the story I didnt really feel any romance between the two. When they first meet and in the build up to their first kink scene, there just wasnt any chemistry. Sure, when Ryder finally succumbed and gave Megan her first taste of kink, it was hot. But his stubbornness to not let it get beyond some heavy petting and spanking until the very end was quite annoying. As a result Megan was the one to initiate most if not all of the intimacy, despite her virgin status. That surprised me a bit....i didnt see the point in it really. And to top it off, Megan had to also be the one to propose.
The end was sticky sweet, not necessarily in the best way. Still, i love the author and the series and I'm still looking forward to the next book.
I am so looking forward to Luke's story.
I am also very pleased to hear that the author is now in better health and wish her well for the future, irrespective of the writing.
It was a bit of a struggle to get to the book. The whole process was beset with gremlins at every turn and the help available not always good. Got it sorted eventually, but communication is really necessary when these things occur. There are still people out there having problems, judging by some of the reviews. The upside of all this was that I 're-read a couple of the earlier books in the series and enjoyed them all over again.
