Nobody Dances in this Town is the band's debut album. The album gets its name from people approaching the band after a gig(which invariably included a fair share of dancing)and say,Wow, nobody dances in this town!A hugely eclectic mix of songs, ranging from the swinging, rockabilly, opening track Tales That I Tell,to the bluesy closer Can't See The Stars, the songs skip across a musical landscape of 70's glam and glitz,to 60's twist and shout pop, without missing a single beat.
About the Artist
Formed in Los Angeles, this folk group has been influenced by a wide range of genres ranging from pop, country, and punk among others. Originally formed by actual brother-sister duo Robert and Rachel Kolar, the group now consists of five members:Rachel Kolar(Vocals & Percussion),Rob Kolar(Vocals & Guitar),Lauren Brown(Tap Dancing & Drums),Oliver 'Oliwa' Newell(Upright Bass),Aaron Robinson(Slide Guitar). He's My Brother She's My Sister seem to invite a broad range of colourful words to describe their music and performances. No doubt this is due to their mélange of musical styles, both modern and antique; their eccentric attire and sense of expression, both sincere and theatrical; and their unique instrumentation, which includes a rhythm section bolstered by a tap dancer.
