About the Author

Liam Alex Heffron is an award-winning Irish entrepreneur, actor and historian. Known for his role of Garda Doran on Ireland's most popular TV drama 'Fair City', he has written and directed the acclaimed stage plays; 'The Tinker’s Blade' and '1798 - The Year of the French', and was actor/executive producer of the award-winning short film, 'Top of the Rock', set in 1930’s New York. He graduated in 2016, with a first class (Hon) Masters Degree in History, from the National University of Ireland, Galway. Liam's latest book is based on his MA thesis and years of history research, conducting over 200 interviews with local people, throughout his native North Mayo.
