A great small rechargeable torch which is powerful and useful. I've knocked off one star for the following two reasons.
The Thumb is a much more useful torch, for me at least, once you have removed the metal clip. This is easy to do and entirely reversible. I found it to be too chunky overall with the clip in place and prefer using it hanging around my neck on some para-cord.
The other small annoyance, as others have mentioned, is that once you angle the head of the torch, it will not revert to a fully horizontal position. This is really stupid, as it comes perfectly horizontal and should be able to return to that position. I can't see why it shouldn't?!
I have a Nitecore Tube and this starts up at the weakest power setting and becomes brighter with a press of the button. I wish the Thumb worked this way, rather than starting at its brightest 80 lumens settings. This can prove too bright for some situations, and I've found myself closing my eyes and pressing the button to get down to a lower setting (30 then 2 lumens). The red light is useful is you want to protect some of your night vision although it's not very directional and runs at 5 lumens. The red light flash mode may be of use if you are near a road etc at night to alert drivers of your presence.
Charging and retaining a charge have so far been absolutely problem free. It's not as portable as a Tube but overall it's a useful option to have.
