Product Description

Nipguards Runners Nipple Plasters 1 tube of 10 pairs.NipGuards are a patented product that have revolutionized the market for protection against painful nipple chafing and abrasion. They are self adhesive and stay in place no matter how much you sweat. Used primarily by male athletes (woman typically wear bra's and do not experience the problem), over 1 million NipGuards have been successfully used since the product was launched in 1999. Each disposable pair of NipGuards is good for one workout - typically a long distance training run or competition. NipGuards adhere directly to the base of the nipple and are 100% guaranteed not to fall off until you decide to remove them. NipGuards are used regularly in training runs and all types of endurance competitions, including 10k's, half marathons, marathons, 100-mile ultra marathons and even triathlons (in the water, on the bike and on the run).

I sweat like a pig and thought not even duck tape would stick to me once i start running but after an hour they are still in place.
So the next question is how much must it hurt to get these off? Well the answer is they simply pell off with no pain at all.
Yes, I'm well aware these two features should not work together but this is how they work and they are great.

ops - forgot to mention they really do a good job at protecting your nipples!

I've tried all kinds of tape and various types of plaster/band aid with varied results but none of which stick for 13.1 miles on a very sweaty day! Vaseline works but stains your shirt. Nothing works as well as these. The outside of the protector has a shiny surface which reduces friction with your running shirt and prevents the protectors from moving. The adhesive is sticky enough to keep them in place but comes off pretty easily in the shower after a run. They are well designed with a recess that would, I imagine, accept most sizes of nipple. I have one pierced nipple and I find they don't stick as well because of the shape/size of the piercing.

Costing about a pound per run they are rather expensive so I tend to use them only for longer runs and manage with surgical tape on anything under 10km. The price is the only thing keeping me from giving 5 stars.

Any"man" who runs longer distances may have been confronted with the red T-shirt issue - these are brilliant and I couldn't imaging running more than about 10 miles without them. I forgot them last weekend at the Hampton Court half and am still in pain ;)

Purchased these on the basis of previous reviews but have found them to be more ineffective than plasters. The longest they've lasted to date is 8kms which is of no use on a long run. I do not recommend and don't know how the price is justified.

Have been using these for the past three years. Does the job, quite durable during long races and workouts. Just make sure you take them off before you take your shirt off in public...people are mean ;)

I picked these up at the Chicago maraton expo - they're much cheaper in the States. They do work, though can fall off during a run. I honestly can't say they are not any better than a regular band aid, in fact I cut a plaster in half and use that since I finished the packet.

Even then I don't use them all the time, it depends on what you wear, if you're running into the wind and the temperature. I run 40-70 plus miles a week year round and find I only need to wear plasters when I run with a particular top or when the weather is below around 10C.

If you are having a problem with nipple irritation, I recommend trying plasters first, before buying these expensive alternatives.

Hi
I purchased this item (and it was not cheap) Today, Sun 28th Sept 2014, I went for my long run - 18 miles, well the nipple gaurds fell off at the 14 miles and I was left with an obvious result at the end of the run. These were not cheap and I would definitely not recommend them. They do not do what it says on the tin.
Sincerely
A Keane

I do quite a bit of running. When training over a longer distance I can get chafed (especially in the rain). These are a good product and at least I don't have to pay any more than in sports shops ... and in terms of petrol / parking in a large town I am actually saving money!
