The Mini NES arrived very quickly and looks amazing, great piece of retro 80’s history to display! Has 30 classic games already loaded in from Super Mario to Pac-Man and it’s super fun to play these old gems! Would recommend buying the double pack of longer controllers with this as the one controller it comes with is a little on the short side cable wise. Other than that would definitely recommend!
Oh and be aware it’s powered by USB so you may need an adapter plug

I love Nintendo and this brings back a lot of childhood memories, it's brilliant.

I had to knock a star off though as it doesn't come with a plug, only a USB lead. I'm assuming this has been done to simplify international sales for the company but this sort of information should be provided up front. If you don't have an adapter you can use to plug into the mains you'll probably find that the USB ports on TVs do not provide enough electricity and it can actually mess with the power circuit for your TV (i.e. prevent it switching on as it's diverting power - I found this out using a similar device plugged directly into my TV's USB port for power).

I bought this not for the NES games as I'm more of an Atari 2600/80s Arcade fan but because I knew that it could easily be modded to play other systems such as Atari, Arcade (MAME), as well as 16-bit and 32-bit era games via Retroarch.
It even has a great port of Doom called Brutal Doom which is one of my favourites.
Of course you should only add games that you actually own.
It's a lot easier to set this up to play those other games than it is with a Raspberry Pi - I have both and I'm quite techy.
Not just easier but it's nicer too, the mini NES case and controller are high quality as you'd expect from Nintendo and the menu/front-end looks very good too.
I'd recommend getting a Wii Classic Controller as that has twin analogue joysticks as well as a d-pad and plenty of buttons too - much better for other systems than the included NES controller.
The NES controller ports are the same as the Wii Classic Controller connector so it just plugs straight in.
I'd also recommend getting a controller lead extension for whatever controller you use - the included NES controller's lead is quite short.
If you want to do the mod to add Retroarch etc just google it.
Once modded you can even load games direct from a USB stick if you buy an angled OTG adaptor which points away from the other cable around the back of the unit.

Nintendo do it again by releasing a fantastic piece of hardware based on their original console, the NES. 30 built in games, most of which are some of the most famous and well made games of the time. For anyone who grew up in the NES, this is a fantastic buy. Cable for the controller is a little on the short side, buy you can get extenders for it (they have the same connector as Wii controllers). Just remember, Nintendo ARE re-releasing these in the summer of 2018, so wait for that to get this as the ORIGINAL price, and not some £200+ scammer price!

Just got it in the post the other day and now have been playing it like mad since. Fabulous piece of equipment for anyone who is a big nintendo fan and who likes to collect the memorabilia, one well worth adding to your collection.

It has all of those important nes games which are as everyone with sense knows the first three mario games, most of all the third the world over. I had such a great time playing sm 3 the other day there. Kirby's dreamland was pretty fun too. Theres some other cool titles there for consideration too.

Many people's excuse for a complaint would be that there is only thirty games on it when on other emulator consoles (unofficial ones of course) there is above the limit of 200 or more. All of that is fine but if you like certain genres and are a fan of them like me and lots of others out there then you might at the same time just consider this one too. Another issue for people is that the cables are quite short as well. They will barely reach as far as you that player so word of warning for any buying this machine, you may just want to consider buying an extended cable to with it rather than relying on the smaller one provided. Though quite fragile its also a very stylish device, nice and small as well. So much that it will literally fit in the palm of your hand.

The NES changed the world of video games forever by introducing an accessible, easy to use and intuitively playable interactive entertainment device. Clever marketing for this hardware at the time is a story in itself. If you were there when this mini marvel hit in the mid-eighties and early nineties you will know what to expect. What you get with this neat and well built Nintendo produced plug-and-play legacy console is a compilation of some of the greatest titles you can remember on the shelves at the time, but some of which unfortunately your parents couldn’t all afford to buy at the time. Here’s a second chance to play the best in-house and third-party gems. Yes, there are probably games that you wished they had included on this console, me too. But this is a good survey of the earliest, middle and latter periods of the NES. Buy it you won’t be disappointed!

I'm sure you've read a million reviews at this point about this item, most good to excellent. I would rate it very good; the game selection and layout is incredible, and playing Donkey Kong was exactly as it was when I first played it in an arcade in 1982. All the games are great, my only beef is why they would put such a short cord on the controller, when I had the original NES in the 80's, the cords were mostly long enough to sit on the couch and play it. Of course, there's a huge after market of extenders (I got two for around nine dollars) that make it a mute issue. There's also cordless controllers available if you want to go that route. That being said, if you were a fan of the original, you'll love this flashback, an ample little unit!
