This is a very good entry level dlsr and it's good for anyone looking to getting into photography, it comes with a very nice and compact 18-55 mm lens that is good as a starting lens, I bought this for my photography gcse course work and it's never let me down, it has an impressive 24.4 megapixels that provide a sharp detailed image, when combined with a good lens the image quality is fantastic. It was a very good price for what i got, it has a nice long battery life, useful if you need to go out on long trips taking photos, however I would always recommend buying a second one just for those emergency moments, as when the battery gets too low it will power on but won't take photos. It can be a bit complicated if you're not to into cameras, but it comes along with a very good guide mode that tells you what needs to be done. It has a live effects mode which allows you to view a premise effect live, which can be a bit cheesy at times but can also make some fun pictures. The camera is also very lightweight which is good if you're carrying it around all day.
One of my personal favourite features that isn't on the d3200 is a time mode, it's effectively bulb mode but you donut have to hold down the button, you just press it to start and press it to stop, this is great for astrophotographers, I was also very impressed with its ISO capabilities, as it goes from a standard 100 all the way up to high 1 (256,000 iso) I was impressed with how little noise it had from 100 all the way up to 64,000 iso.

Summary

Good points

Light weight
Good price
Compact
Good quality
Very versatile in photo modes
Good for astrophotographers
Good iso capabilities
Good for beginners
Has a panorama mode for extreme wide shots

Bad points.

I recently purchased this camera from elsewhere due to timings and availability for My daughter as she is doing GCSE Media studies and as she is quite a keen photographer and hopes to do journalism and finally after much research I felt it would be good choice.

My daughter has bought herself both a digital and digital SLR cameras in the past but they don’t seem to last due to faults developing or they just didn’t deliver what she wanted.
In all honesty I hadn’t intended on spending this sort of money but I sought the advice of our local professional photographer and the lovely lady advised me to buy either a canon or Nikon and recommended the lense requirements as she felt either would be good starter camera’s.
Further than that she didn’t advise and I went off to do my research and let me tell you my head was spinning with all the choices.
I read reviews on here, watched reviews on the web and went to sites that do comparisons once I had narrowed my choices down and frankly was almost pulling my hair out.
In the end and having completely thrown my original budget out of the window I decided on the D3300 as I felt that it had the edge.

I am not doing a technical review as the information spec and camera/accessories are in the listing and there are much more superior camera enthusiasts out there that will so I am giving the Joe Bloggs opinion.

The feel of the camera is good, its comfortable to hold and although isn’t too heavy it certainly isn’t flimsy.

Setting it up and attaching the lense was really straight forward and we like that it can be taken apart for transporting in a neat camera bag.

Ive used many DSLR cameras in the past but none that give me ease of use and and user friendly options. It carries a whopping 24 megapixel and has a image processing speed of 4 where as the D3200 has 3. it has a rugged build to it and large viewing screen which is bright and clear, But to get quality pictures when using manual mode I use the histograph rather than the screen , however saying that most photographers use software to enhance their images. I am not a professional photographer however I do take alot of pictures of aircraft. optional lens will be required for this.

I like the presets you get like landscape portraite starburst which can be used on photos after the event and you also have presets for field of depth, night etc from the menu. The guide that comes with this is also very user friendly.

Took me a while to get used to the fact you cannot check the aperture of the photo being taken ie shodow enhancements etc. my previous camera was capable of this which was a handy feature however the d3300 shows it as a permanent image when looking through the lens. just like int the old days when life was analog

Awesome bit of kit for the price. I can't believe the quality of the images I am getting from the stock lens. Highly recommended and because it's so cheap, I don't mind taking it to places that I wouldn't take my more expensive gear, and yet, as I say, the images are as good as my more expensive gear.

I bought this as a present and it turned out to be an excellent purchase. The quality and features are excellent and the price was the best I could find anywhere. The lens included is of a better quality than other similar offers elsewhere.
