    Excellent camera. Pictures the best, very good value for money. Easy to use. Zoom fantastic. Only one problem, but have got used to it, I hold the camera with 2 hands with a finger on the top left and right hand side. The flash is on the top left side and it pops up when require or doesn't because my finger is there. So remember to hold the camera at the sides only. This is the only fault i can find.

    Great little camera, however I did send it back as it was a present for my daughter who wanted a DSLR instead, so we bought a Cannon, which is great too. However if you want something a little more compact, but still takes great pics this is the one for you.

    I must say the zoom and video quality are very good, and it's easy to use. LCD screen is sharp.

    I was surprised to see that the colour of the camera was more like "champagne" than silver.

    Some minor points if you are upgrading from an older camera :
    -HD video files are massive,so you'll need a high spec PC to play it properly
    -14Mp photo files are 3Mb in size ! get a bigger hard drive.

    but I find the following a bit of a let down :

    - slow focus, so you're likely to miss the moment especially taking photos of kids
    - pop-up flash ! Always end up holding it down as it's how I normally hold my canon ixus

    The deal breaker was that I got a faulty camera because it shut down randomly, so had to be returned.

    The company I purchsed this from were very understanding and gave me a refund for this camera but its utter rubbish, even when you chose red eye option I get more red eyed photos than I normally would have, very dissapointed with this and its Nikon which are meant to be high up there in expectations. It says 14.2MP but I wouldnt agree with this either. I think this is a very low quality digi cam, search elseshwere and in my opinion do not waste your money on this one. You can set it up to take a photo and it freezes. I am constantly turning it on and of for it to work.

    Great to start with. 18 months later, both our son and ourselves are finding it unreliable. Fails to open and work normally. Will have to purchase an alternative, not expected after only 18 months. We are still using an older cheaper less funtional alternative which has proved to be much more reliable. 100% failure on two users is not good. Not recommended, and will not purchase another Nikon.

    The best 'point and shoot' I have ever used. Several of us took a combined total of about 650 photos at my daughter's wedding and the ones from my camera equalled or were even FAR BETTER than the quality from a friend's really, really expensive camera! Guess which ones are in the album! I definitely recommend it: simple to use, no messing, easy to carry around, great pictures, even close-ups.

    Having had a previous Nikon I was pleased to see this camera on sale. It has plenty of features which do not take long to master as the instructions are clear and easy to understand. Although the camera has a facility to increase the brightness of the monitor it is still very difficult to see in bright sunlight. I had to purchase a shade for it which works well. Otherwise I have been very pleased with it.

    Ich suchte ein kleineres 2. Gerät zu meiner D40, um etwas flexibler zu sein.
    Klar, dass die Bilder nicht mit einer Spiegelreflex (vor allem Zoomqualität!) zu vergleichen sind. Aber, was ich persönlich ganz toll finde bei dieser Kamera.

    * Macro ab 1 cm, die Bilder sind wirklich sehr gut!
    * Die Funktion, im vorhinein die Fabsättigung (sw/farbe) einzustellen!!!
    * Menüführung sehr einfach und mit paar wenigen drückern alles, schnell eingestellt!
    * Manuelle Belichtungskorrektur
    * Mechanischer Bildstabilisator (anti-verwackler)
    * Motivautomatik (da kann schon fast nix mehr schief gehen ;-))
    * sehr leicht und praktisch einzustecken

    Auch weitere Extras wie "Zwinkerwarner" und "Best Shoot Selector" zeichnen die kleine aus.
    Die Einschalt- Aufnahme und Fokusiergeschwindigkeit ist auch besonders zackig. (schneller als vergleichbare Modelle)

    Mit Zoom, der wirklich ausreichend ist, werden die Bilder auch ganz verträglich, obwohl sich schon ein teilweise (Situationsabhängig) starkes Rauschen bemerkbar macht...

    Kurz gesagt, für Fotos wenn möglich ohne zu großen Zoom (was aber wohl bei allen kleinen Digitalkamerars gleich ist) ein perfektes, qualitativ hochwertiges Bild. Ob die 14,2 MP sinnvoll sind, sei mal dahin gestellt. Videokamerafunktion ist zwar dabei aber ich nutze sie nicht und kann sie somit auch nicht bewerten.

    Also, ich für meinen Teil bin mit Nikon immer sehr zufrieden und werde mal einige Bilder machen und meine Rezension gegebenfalls aktualisieren.

    Gleich vorweg, ich bin kein Nörgler, habe schon viele 5 Sterne Bewertungen geschrieben.
    Aber was hier Nikon abgeliefert hat ist in meinen Augen eine Frechheit. Scheinbar ging das ganze Geld für die Werbung mit Robbie Williams drauf und konnte nicht in die Qualität der Kamera fließen.

    Diese Kamera eignet sich für Tennagergeknipse, wo eigentlich auch eine Kamera für 50 Euro das gleiche leistet.

    Pluspunkte:
    keine (-)
    einziger eventueller Pluspunkt das Gewicht der Kamera (Fliegengewicht), aber vielleicht steckt hier der Mangel

    Minuspunkte:
    - egal in welcher Einstellung, unscharfe Bilder mit Bildrauschen
    - Makromodus, der eigentliche Kaufgrund, nicht der Rede wert, unscharfe wackelige Bilder
    - komplizierte Einstellung
    - Akku muss in der Kamera über USB geladen werden.

    Die Kamera habe ich bereits zurückgeschickt und mir die Canon Powershot SX130IS bestellt mit der ich sehr zufrieden bin (eine Rezession habe ich auch hier geschrieben).

    Ich suchte eine kompakte Digitalkamera mit großem optischen Zoom und hatte aufgrund der positiven Bewertung die Canon PowerShot SX200 IS ins Auge gefasst, da ich mit der Canon Ixus 70 bisher recht zufrieden war (Ausnahme der geringe Zoombereich). Die Entscheidung für die Nikon S8000 fiel eigentlich nur wegen der Optik und Maße.

    + sehr geringe Auslösungsverzögerung
    + einfache, gut zu bedienende Menuführung
    + sehr hohe Lichtempfindlichkeit (bei normaler Zimmerbeleuchtung rauschfreie Aufnahmen ohne Blitz möglich)
    + sehr gute Makrofunktion (Aufnahmen zeigen scharf alle Details des Motivs)
    + klares Displaybild
    + Indiviuelle Einstellungen für die Programmautomatik möglich
    + Serienbildaufnahmen mit unterschiedlichen Einstellungsmöglichkeiten

    Bei allen Bilder, die ich mit ISO Automatik 100-400 aufgenommen habe, konnte ich auch bei nicht optimalen Lichtverhältnissen bisher kein Bildrauschen feststellen. Bei meiner IXUS 70 gibt es ab ISO 400 schon bei relativ guten Lichtverhältnissen ein sichtbares Bildrauschen. Ich habe zum Test Nachtaufnahmen mit ISO 100, 200 und 400 gemacht. Erst bei ISO 400 zeigt sich ein stärkeres Bildrauschen, dafür sind sogar die Ziegelsteine des Schornsteins vom Nachbarhaus gut zu erkennen( Die Aufnahmen habe ich in die Galerie eingestellt).

    Für eine Kamera dieser Klasse liefert die Nikon sehr gute Bilder, wobei sich die schnelle Fokussierung und Auslösung gerade bei bewegten Motiven vorteilhaft auswirkt.

    Für "fortgeschrittene" Anfänger halte ich die Coolpix S8000 für die momentan beste Wahl.
    Wer experimentieren will und kein Laie ist, sollte sich aber eine andere Kamera suchen,
    die mehr individuelle Einstellungen zulässt.

    Besonders gut:
    - schneller Schnappschuss mit Automatik und auch Szeneautomatik möglich
    - gute Bildqualität die schon im Wiedergabemodus eingezoomt bzw. geändert und als
    neues Bild sofort wieder gespeichert werden kann
    - HD-Video in guter Qualität auch bei schlechteren Lichtverhältnissen
    - einfache Handhabung
    - günstiger Preis
    - hervorragendes Displays mit dem Bild und Video sofort auf Tauglichkeit geprüft werden können
    - eigene Videoeinschaltung ohne den umständlichen Drehknopf
    - handlich und passt in die kleinste Tasche

    Verbesserungswürdig:

    - Akku- und A/V-Abdeckung unten am Gehäuse sehr fummelig und für Grobmotoriker wenig geeignet
    - der ausfahrende Blitz oben links, der in seiner Leistung zwar sehr gut ist, stört doch beim
    Halten der Kamera bzw. ist sehr gewöhnungsbedürftig

    Ich würde mir die Kamera sofort wiederkaufen

    Kurz: sie hat mir nicht gefallen.

    Meine Rezension basiert auf meiner persönliche Meinung und Erfahrung mit der von mir ausprobierten Kamera. Andere Käufer sind vielleicht sehr zufrieden mit dieser Kamera und dann ist der Kauf natürlich eine gute Entscheidung gewesen.

    Ich suche die kleine Alleskönnerin zum ständig dabei haben. Die Nikon ist für eine Reisezoom wirklich sehr kompakt und passt gut in die Hosentasche. Die eckige Gehäuseform ist ansprechend, liegt aber nicht immer sicher in der Hand - trotz Daumenmulde auf der Rückseite. Der Ausklappblitz auf der Oberseite ist extrem ungünstig positioniert, da ich meinen Zeigefinger der linken Hand bei Blitzaufnahmen immer genau da ablegte und der Blitz so nicht ausklappen konnte. Daran kann man sich aber vielleicht gewöhnen. Das hochauflösende Display und die durchdachte Software machen Freude. Ein paar manuelle Einstellmöglichkeiten gibt es zwar auch, aber die Automatik kommt ganz gut zurecht und man kann einfach "draufhalten". Der Zoom ist sehr gut einsetzbar. Der Bildstabilisator könnte noch besser sein, aber selbst bei maximalem Zoom gelingen auch Bilder aus der freien Hand. Die geringe Anfangsbrennweite von 30 mm reicht mir nicht, das können andere Kameras deutlich besser. Der Akku macht relativ früh schlapp, bei einem Tagesausflug könnte es knapp werden (ich habe aber natürlich auch viel herumexperimentiert und den Akku stark gefordert). Der Akku wird über das USB-Kabel in der Kamera geladen, bei einem zweiten Akku muß man also noch ein externes Ladegerät dazu kaufen.

    Was hauptsächlich gegen diese Kamera spricht ist die mittlere Qualität der Bilder. Die Bilder werden einfach nicht richtig scharf und wirken matschig. Interessanterweise spielt die Zoomstufe dabei eine geringe Rolle. Man hat als von der Makroaufnahme bis zum vollen Zoom eine gleichbleibende Bildqualität. Innenaufnahmen haben mir auch nicht gefallen. So werden aus bräunlichen Farbtönen einfach mal grünliche Farbtöne usw. Innenaufnahmen mit Blitz werden zwar deutlich besser, aber es bleibt bei der mittelmäßigen Bildqualität.

    Zwei Sterne weil Nikon auf dem richtigen Weg ist und ich die kompakte Bauform sehr gut finde.
