Top review from United Kingdom

Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 7 September 2006
Nikolai Dante is the second greatest character ever created for long running cult science fiction comic 2000ad. Living in russia in the 27th century, a future society ruled by a tyrannical czar, he's a bold rogue who lives for the moment. And is the key to the future of the world.

What's great about dante is that his story is one with a beginning, middle and an end. Many characters are kept around beyond their sell by date and writers struggle to come up with new situations for them, but Dante's story feels fresher and far more believable as a result, as you know it's always going somewhere.

however, it does allow for self contained side steps such as this one. Dante is manouvered by an old flame into investigating a girls shool where strange experiments are going on.

To say any more would spoil the plot. Dave Bishop is a very reliable and professional writer of franchise fiction who never fails to perfectly recreate the fictional worlds he's writing about. Thus we have a dante story here that could have come from the pages of 2000ad, and captures the style of the ones published there perfectly.

A great and very satisfying read if you like the character. And if you don't, then get the back issues and get into the story! You don't know what you're missing
