I couldn't put it down once I started. The characters really draw you into their world and you find yourself wanting to know about their backgrounds. Can't wait to read more from this author.

4.0 out of 5 stars Reviewed by Brecken for Got Romance Reviews 8 Aug. 2011

Though she wants to use her `gifts' for good, detective work burned Leah Wolfe out, leading her into retirement early. Between her former fiancé and her adopted father, Leah can't completely walk away, especially when paranormal women start turning up violently dead. Lean meets Ian Nightwalker, a vampire with more secrets and history than Leah could imagine. The hunt for the killer threatens everything Leah has come to hold dear and she'll be lucky if she makes it out alive.

Nightwalker had some serious surprise and twisty-turny moments. I'd start to get pulled one way, thinking that was the direction the story would go, only for something different to happen. The secondary characters are very rich in this story and I hope to see more of them in future stories by Ms. Print. The only part that really got me was the end. No one-at all-was happy in the end. Not even a little. I understand it's the first in a series, but after growing so attached to everyone, I would have at least liked a glimmer of someone being happy at the wrap. I guess I'll just have to read the next one and hope for someone getting what they want.

4.0 out of 5 stars Entertaining Read 2 Feb. 2011

A very nice beginning for a new series. The story reminds me of Anita Blake but also gives a lot of reference to the Blood Countess Elizabeth Bathory. This is a nice refreshing twist because though there a plenty of female vampires, I haven't heard mention of any of them referring to the one lady "thought" in history to be the closest thing to a vampire, though there is plenty of talk of Vlad.

All the compontents are here for what is needed in a good. Book there is the star of the book Leah who really doesn't know what the extent of her powers are but there are a ton of people trying to get to her to help her figure it out. Then there is Nightwalker, Ian Nightwalker a sensual and very old vampire who comes out of no where and attempts to move in on Leah and her ex the sexy Native American cop Joaquin is fighting with everything he has not to let Leah go. So there, you have a great plot and a love triangle. What more do you need? One more thing, a strong female lead. Leah is not afraid to voice her opinion. She can take a butt whooping just as well as she can give one. Also, she is strong enough not to be ruled by her emotions...on most occasions. There are also shapeshifters in the story and I like stories that have a mix of both.

What did I not like? Somethings were repeated a few times, but that is a pet peeve of mine especially if the book is not terribly long (177 pgs). But, all good things must come to an end, at least until the second installment is released. So I will be stalking Mrs. Print to see when the next book will released. She will for sure be added to my TBR list.

Wow! I really loved this book and can't wait to read the rest of the series. Ms. Print is a very talented author who writes impeccably. I was immediately drawn in and felt all of Leah's emotions. I couldn't imagine going through what she went through. I can't wait to read the rest of this series!
