I really struggled with this book because the bad grammar made the story hard to follow. There were so many sentences that I had to read over and over again to make sense of what I was reading. I also found it so long winded, which was a shame because had the story been more direct and condensed it would have done more justice to the brave story being told. This is supposedly the 1st book in a trilogy I just hope that the translation into English of the next is of a far better standard as the author does have an interesting story to tell. I am, however, concerned that those who bravely helped Alexandra are not now in danger as a result of this 1st book!!!

Don't bother with this book. Very disappointing, you lose track of what is going on. Was this book translated into English ? as whoever proofed this needs sacking. its just doesn't make sense. This lady DECIDED to stay in Saudi with her husband even after the husband telling her he doesn't want her and to go home, but she chose to stay then she become pregnant and the story ends. This should be a FREE book, not one you have to pay for

Im halfway through this book and i am finding it very trying to read,, i wonder if because its an E book and the translation is bad,, Also it gives you a bit of info about her life but never actually tells you what exactly did happen so left me a bit on edge wondering what actually did happen to her, Also the life she had with her husband could have been anywhere and not just Saudi,, I do feel sorry for her and hope she found happiness,, however if you like a bit of a gripping story dont bother with this book.

This book was really hard to get into, it read like it had been translated into English from another language - and extremely poorly! There was no flow to the writing, it was very stilted, it didn't make much sense. It was very disappointing! This should be a very engaging subject, and should really want to find out how it ends, but I wasn't really bothered! And the ending of the book was really rather rubbish! It just cut off with vague reference to continuing the story. My best advice - get someone to help you out with the next one!

Story about a woman without common sense who failed to respect another culture by finding out about the 'rules, traditions & religion' before settling down in marriage... This is only my opinion ...others may love this 'I am the victim' whinge book...

The only reason I gave this book 2 stars is because the writer does have an important story to tell which should act as a warning to any woman even thinking about marrying a Saudi man, an Arab or any man believing in Sharia law. Unfortunately the book is written in such appalling lying bad English it is often difficult to work out what is meant....very very peculiar cliches, metaphors grammar and syntax.

The subject of this book may be of interest to many readers but it is so badly written in English it is barely comprehensible at times.
If writing is intended to be in a second language then the author must take the time and trouble to have it checked by a translator so it reads properly.
Although there must be sympathy felt for anyone in an abusive relationship in this case it is difficult to feel really sorry for the writer as there were many indications that the husband and mother-in- law were not to be trusted before the marriage took place. There were opportunities for the writer to avoid the marriage but instead she actively seeks it out.
I can't recommend the book at all.

This is an unbelievable story. The story should be a warning to young women marrying out of their own culture. The translation of this book is rather poor. So, if you can put up with the poor spelling and grammar, this book is worth reading.
