I think I might read these books again. There was so much here, and they're so good, that they deserve a second reading. The mystery of the fallers, and the wonderful time-bending effects of the trees in orbit are explained perfectly, and the mystery around what the heck has been going on is tied up nicely in this book. The way it leaves off, there's a whole lot of unanswered questions, so I'm hoping there are more books set in the Void, either prequels, coincident stories, or (hopefully) with Sheldon exploring other voids in other galaxies! I need more! :)
Sorry had to edit this because I forgot to ask the question that I'm sure other readers want to know as well - and it'll be interesting to see if the author reads his reviews - what the hell is PREDUI?????????
Everything you expect from this author - superb. From a few pages in, I was kicking myself for not having shelled out full price for this when it came out a year ago....
Arthur C Clark's Rama series and his 2001 - 3001 series do not match this.
Kevin J Anderson comes close with his Saga of the Seven Suns plus the additional trilogy, but for me Peter has the edge and is one of only a very small handful of authors whose works deserve 5 Stars.
There are many who deserve 9.5 or 9/10 but we can't refine it that small.
So for now I have to be patient and wait for what comes next and I can't wait.
( Greg Mandel,Joshua Calvert) and the use of Paula Myo from the previous Commonwealth and Void sagas to close this story arc out is just right.
Super story telling.
