As a P.I. Samantha Chase, (real name Lewis), exposes cheaters, liars and thieves, but following and photographing a clients cheating wife leads her into a world of hot vamps and equally smouldering fallen angels. Unfortunately, not far behind is a psycho bloodsucker with a centuries old feud and a face of an angel.
This paranormal tale is set in Phoenix with an independent, kick ass female lead, albeit a few 'blonde' moments, who may not be completely human that attracts 'hot' things that go bump in the night. There's sexual tension and a few smouldering lip locks but no sex at all. There's a good storyline, very interesting, mysterious characters and the whole book was written in Samanthas humorous pov, which was odd because the blurb was in the view point of the evil vamp. It would've benefited from the menfolks pov also and lo and behold at the end of the book the reader can click and read a bonus chapter from Adams prospective, (the hot, protective vamp).
The story continues into the second and third books which I don't think are available yet. A very good read, would recommend and found it free. 3.5*

Red Night is one of those books that you can pick up off the shelf and not be sure what to expect. The cover was what got me, though. When I started reading it, I fell in love with Adam. He’s just such an intense character, who is also super sexy and possessive to boot. I enjoyed the fact neither he nor Sam were 2D characters that you can find in some other novels. They were full of life and determination to do what they believed was right. I can stand behind characters like these, especially if there is a lot of sexual tension going on.

In regard to sexual tension, my God. There are two good-looking men and one stubborn woman. I think Samantha is pretty lucky (well, not always) when it comes to being involved with the opposite sex. Sure they’re sexy, but each one has his own baggage.

Still #teamAdam!

There were a couple of missing commas but they didn’t take away from the story in any way. Nonetheless, it is a great paranormal thriller with a good amount of romance in it. Great read.

Red Night is written from Samantha's POV, which is a different perspective than your usually vampire story. Like RK Close says herself, I am an Anne Rice stalker and love a good vampire story and this took me by surprise being from the human's POV. It gave a different feel to the story which I enjoyed.

I love a strong female character and Samantha definitely delivered. She is a private investigator who stumbles upon the paranormal world. Her story is action packed and has loads of eye candy of different species. Who doesn't love some hot paranormals. ;-)

The Vampire Files look to be a great trilogy and I am looking forward to reading more of Samantha's adventures and who her love interest may end up being. Hmmmm so hard to pick between the hotness.

I first read this on Wattpad and it well deserves to be published.

Our heroine, Sam, is an engaging character, really important this as told from her point of views. She is a nice mix of intelligence, sparky attitude, self-deprecation, although can be a bit “blonde” at times! And one has to ask will curiosity kill the cat?

I really like the humorous elements, like the time Adam tries compulsion on her and she just laughs in his face, asking whether his line really works on women.

Adam, swoon! The tension between these two is palpable. Then throw in another hottie, a prof who is not all he seems. Then add to the mix a homicidal vamp, with a face of an angel, and a major grudge against Adam.

What more could you want?

Red Night is a thrilling romantic suspense by new author, RK Close. I really liked the female PI angle and the main character, Sam, who was both compelling and absorbing. But the real clincher for me was the sexy blue eyed vampire, Adam. Enigmatic and charming, I could read him to the ends of the earth. I liked how the romantic elements of the story didn't overpower the plot. The villain was a worthy adversary and the twists and turns kept me on the edge of the my seat until the very end. I look forward to the sequel! Hard to believe this is Ms Close's first novel.

Fantastic book! The lead female character is a really strong, likeable character and seeing the world through the eyes of a PI is definitely a unique viewpoint. The alluring male lead is without doubt mysterious and intriguing, leaving you turning the pages to find out more. Twists and turns are all along the way and each chapter is left on a cliffhanger, making you want to continue devouring it. This will definitely be one hell of a trilogy to follow!

Have not read any supernatural or vampire books, but decided to give this one a go. Excellent story that gripped me from the start, and did not disappoint right through to the end. Can't wait for the second instalment.
