When they said, "Rachel, one must be this or that," she replied that she is neither, or both. When they said, "Patience, parties, movements, and a well-established hierarchy are necessary for our triumph," she said, "We need instead riots, total war, and the destruction of the totems that have created your priestly relationship with life." When they demanded orthodoxy, she said, "being ruled is being ruled, control is control." Rachel Haywire is an author and tech journalist from Los Angeles, California. She runs the dissident political magazine Trigger Warning (triggerwarning.us) and was the founder of both the Extreme Futurist Festival and INSTED. Once upon a time she was also an industrial music producer and fetish model, who was featured in various anthologies about the occult, politics, philosophy, and alternative culture. She is now finishing up her degree in Philosophy, with a focus on applying Nietzsche to a modern day context. Her first book was a travel memoir called Acidexia about her journey through the North American zeitgeist.

Wonderfully angry and good fun to read. Rachel Haywire is not short of opinions and she is certainly making waves on the New Right. My only complaint is that there is a lot of attitude and not so much actual argument. but the attitude is so well struck!

I'm sorry I bought this crap. Its simply regurgitated Nietzschean elitism with appeals to Libertarian extreme individualism. More a recipe for social misery than a workable society. I read it in a few hours. I can't believe it is going for $868 out here. I was going to throw it out in the garbage but maybe will sell it online.

Reactionary Individualism is what you get from this collection of essays from Rachel Haywire. Her contrary nature suffuses this work and reading it feels precisely like coming home. This collection highlights her ability as a thinker and a writer to transcend the spoon fed dichotomy of Left and Right presented to most people as "Gospel Truth." Simultaneously, she is both beyond good and evil and left and right which is precisely her charm. She has taken elements of the old non-mainstream right and fused it with leftist futurism to present the reader with a Hegelian Synthesis which is intoxicating. Taking nothing away from her as a writer, the brevity of this work left me wanting more and wishing that she had gone a little more in depth. Perhaps, however, that is not her style. She surely pulls no punches in that the power and brevity of her essays leaves one thinking that, whereas others write philosophy with a pen, she writes philosophy with a hammer. Great read and highly recommended!
