One of my favorite quotes - "God does not call only on the qualified, but qualifies the called." The Catholic Church is the Church Jesus established through Peter and it's our duty as Christians and Catholics to help bring lost Catholics back to the faith by helping them understand why we believe what we believe, instead of just "going through the motions". God wants us all to be with Him - not be with this world and we can help our fallen away brothers and sisters, as well as our fallen away Protestant brothers and sisters find their way back home to the one true Church. We miss you!
The Catholic Church's move toward a New Evangelization is, in the opinion of influential Church scholars, the seminal evangelization event of the past 500 years. It seeks a return to the practices common to the early Church. It truncates the Post Reformation Era of the Catholic Church.
Mr. Willis' Five Star book is a worthy contributor in helping define this historic transformation underway within a global Church of 1.5 billion faithful. His thesis holds that unprecedented change is being unleashed onto the previously staid Catholic Church by this new focus on The New Evangelization and You . It introduces a broader less top-down leadership style. One less wedded to narrow parochial issues One in which the laity and clergy are now equal partners in offering the Good News. .A faith in which every member has an equal responsibility to carry the gospel message into the world. One is which the sinful acts of unfaithful priests are understood as destructive human failings. Not, ,as detractors maintain, failings in theology. The early evidence, under Pope Francis' leadership is promising. Mass attendance, throughout the world, is reported to be twelve to twenty percent higher. To better understand why,and where this global Church evolution will carry society begin by reading Mr.Willis' book.
