Home is where the heart is and Anna's heart is definitely in the pretty Yorkshire village of Bramblewick where she's lived all her life. Things are set to change for her, though. Her father, the local GP, has passed away and she's about to marry her childhood sweetheart, Lee, and move to Kent where he's been studying and has now secured a job. She should be excited about her wedding, but she can't seem to muster any enthusiasm. That's because it won't be the same without her father there to give her away, isn't it? It's certainly got nothing to do with the new doctor who's taken over at her father's surgery.... is it?
This is such a lovely story, made more so by the new doctor's young daughter who makes quite an impact on the community. I understand it's part of a series so I'm really looking forward to the next instalment.
If you like a bit of romance, sheep and a hunky GP then this is the book for you - but not necessarily in that order!
