I have dipped into this book from time to time as the collage "mood" takes me. One thing that really bugs me about this book is that there is hardly any reference to composition. Its all fine and dandy having a collection of pretty papers, but if if you don't know how to construct a balanced or flowing composition, its just going to end up a mess. She mentions "Cruciform" once, I think, but no explanation of what it is or how to go about achieving it. Some design hints would be helpful - that is a technique too.

I find this a valuable book that helps me to develop new ideas. It also gives the reader a good idea how to use different techniques and materials, referring to elements of design and compositon. It has many illustrations, some of which however could be improved in quality. Overall though a really good book in which I like to dip in for reference.
