Here are my comments on another book on NCT by the same author (i have not read this one).................I started reading this book last night (28/4/14) and when i got to page 60 i realised it makes no sense at all ! . I wondered what the authors were talking about regarding a so-called New Covenant and then it clicked - the authors are both Baptists who dont understand Bible covenants in the first place ! To explain : there are 2 covenants in the Bible . The first one was a covenant of works promised to Adam with certain conditions attached . After Adams fall and failure, the second covenant of free grace through faith was given to ALL who believe since the Fall of Adam until the return of the Lord Jesus Christ . I do not understand anyone who would deny this so why "New Covenant Theology" ? What is it ? The book does not explain what it is . The authors would throw away the Old Testament just because they cannot see the continuity between the OT and the NT. They harp on about the "law" but dont explain WHAT law is. They mention a Moral law and the law of God and the Decalouge laws and the Divine laws and the Ceremonial Law and the Messianic law and the Civil law and the Moses Law etc etc etc . It is no wonder the book is confusing . To a saved Christian the law is the law is the law is the law !. Who gave who the right to split the Law of God into compartments ? The entire Law of God is used to bring sinners in ALL ages to an understanding of their rebellion towards God . No man (or woman) can keep the Law of God - only Christ could do so. The authors of this book do not understand the SPIRIT of The Law and get bogged down in the LETTER of the Law .Read more ›

I thought about buying the bigger book, but I'm glad I got this smaller book--basically two different speeches given. A lot is crammed in this and it is so informative to someone trying to figure out Bible theology, belief etc.
