First, in the original version, when the author was quoting someone, each verse would begin with quotation marks. In this version, the editors have used a paragraph format. The result is that you get quote marks appearing over and again where they do not belong in a paragraph. Hopefully, this kind of thing appears in the sample, so readers can evaluate it before they purchase. See John 17.
Secondly, in modernizing the text (a great idea), the editors have simply used a computer to replace phrases like "Thou didst" with "You did." The result is a phrase like this: ". . . that the world may know that You did send me." It should read, ". . . that the world may know You sent me." But someone got lazy, and left lots of this kind of thing in the book.
I hope the editors will hire a proof-reader and go through the entire Bible, correcting for punctuation and English readability. The idea behind this version is great; the execution careless and poor.
This Kindle edition features the 1977 NASB (the other update was 1995) but is modernized taking out the archaic language (Thee, Thou, etc. that the 1977 said was "prayer language"). I have greatly enjoyed this edition of the NASB on my Kindle and have used it much. It is easy to use, easy to read, trustworthy as a translation, and easy to navigate.
