I first borrowed this book from the local library over 10 years ago. I tried many receipes from the book and they turned out very nice and exactly as they were depicted in the photos. I got a second hand copy, although this book is a little jaded, it's still as good as I remembered it. The receipes are easy to follow and don't have lots of ingredients, you can always improvise with savoury cuisine. I am glad I finally got hold of this book and I can once again enjoy making all those dishes I first made.

I can't believe this brilliant book is out of print. It is written by a woman with a lifetime of experience, many recipes take more than one day, and I have learned so much about true, traditional and very delicious Turkish cooking from this book. My copy of this is somewhat stained and abused now, but I shall treasure it forever. Needless to say: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, if you can find a copy.

I bought this wonderful book in a second hand bookstore in London over 20 years ago and could never find it again to buy for friends. I am thankful for the internet shopping that now makes it possible to find out of print books. I am now buying it for a friend. This book has excellent, photographs, excellent English and sensible and correct instructions. It contains authentic recipes, focused in its selection rather than trying to include all of the Turkish Cuisine, which is very exhaustive indeed. It is also a high quality production withstanding 20 years of use. The binding is still intact and pages clean due to its glossy finish. I would recommend it as good reading if you are in to reading cookery books as a way of understanding the culture of the country.

saw this little book in a stack of books at a recent yard sale in my neighborhood. Picked it up, leafed through it then bopught it..! As an experienced Turkish culture & cuisine freak I am entranced with the great eats presented in this book!
