Theres been a lot of talk about this album, mostly due to one thing...It sounds like Nightwish would do if they had replaced Tarja with another Operatic singer and then not gone out of their way to "prove" they werent a "metal" band. Theres no getting away from this so it has to be said. Is it a bad thing? Well, No! I am not going to avoid the comparisons here I am going to hit them head on, because if you like this style of music you cannot fail to pick up on them anyway...

The album storms out of the blocks with the epic "Prophecy", which is actually DPP era Nightwish in style, too short at 7 minutes and has some terrific guitar in it as well as vocal pyro from Manuela, Valentine is a bombastic pop metal number, you then get "Forevermore" which is hugely emotional and powerful and by far the best track on the album. On the tenth listen I was trying to think of the last song that had such an emotional affect on me and it was "Dead boys Poem".

There are bits that do sound plagiaristic, like in Euphoria where I am sure you could easily shout out "Master, Apprentice..." in the opening verse, but its still a great track. I found the heavier tracks such as Soulcrusher a bit boring, and Nomads Crown at least shows that maybe they dont have the songwriting ability to carry off a Tuomas style 9 minute epic, but otherwise you have growers buried down the end like "Call of the Winds" with its Celtic feel being done far better than Nightwish do and the terrific "Lost Elysion".

To be fair, this album has been coming for ten years and is therefore long overdue. The musicianship is superb, and I enjoyed the shredding which is something you dont often get in this genre.

Xandria albums have never been anything less than interesting and always a great listen, This however is in a different league altogether. Massive and epic sounding music with a new lead vocalist, Manuela Kraller, whose vocal range and delivery is simply stunning. No doubt there will be comparisons to Tarja era Nightwish, but Manuela and Xandria have created their own distinct and awesome sound. This is an absolute must have for Xandria fans and any listener remotely interested in this type of grandiose, epic, symphonic metal. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!

The Album Neverworlds End is certainly my best buy of this year.
I feel Xandria did well With the addition of Manuela on Vocals her voice is clear, even when hitting the high notes and soft, her range is huge. On my first listen, I was taken back at how well crafted this album is, my first thought was that it reminded me of Nightwish and their previous work, but comparisons aside, this is a fine piece of music.
I have my personal favourite songs like 'Soulcrusher' and 'Blood on my hands' - that would be a great second single following nicely off from Valentine
This album suprised me and I was so impressed by it. it seems that bringing Manuela in was the best choice they've made The sound is huge, the choruses are strong, and the vocals of Kraller have that perfect operatic tone which blends so well symphonic metal. Can't wait for a uk tour!
This album is stunning symphonic metal at its best.

I give this 5/5
Classic.

Xandria are a German band that have been going for a few years, this latest CD is a the one people will look back and say, "they made it with Neverworld's End". Xandria have made the CD that Nightwish should have made after they dismissed Tarja. Xandria's new singer, Manuela, is hugely talented, their music is well written and produced, and, as everyone is saying, it's indistinguishable from early Nightwish. No bad thing, in my opinion, as Nightwish have stopped doing the style of music that attracted me to them in the first place. It even has similar Irish-themed passages you find in Dark Passion Play. If you wanted someone to do another CD like Nightwish's Wishmaster, this is a good choice. There's nothing quite in the class of Ghost Love Score" (from Once), which is a genuinely epic, but there's a lot of really great songs and nothing that stands out as below standard. The Lost Elysion, Euphoria, and Blood On My Hands stand out as particularly good. Go and listen to them on-line, you'll not be disappointed.
If you haven't heard them, it's heavy symphonic rock with soaring operatic female vocals (which are very distinctive), nice guitar playing (not lead breaks as such, just the melody developed on the guitar) with orchestral elements, violins, keyboards and Irish flutes in places. It's similar to film music at times. I bought the MP3 version, there's over an hour of good quality music, so it's good value too. If you haven't guessed, I'm pretty happy with this, now waiting for their next one.

I know it,s only April but come Dec 31 I think this album will still be at the top of my list for best album of 2012 - unless of course they release another one before the year,s end. Great tunes, great songs. Epic tracks and super-awesome vocals from their new singer Manuela Kraller. Where did she come from? She is amazing! Album kicks off with the epic A Prophecy Of Worlds To Fall and what follows keeps up the pace to the final note.Sounds even better through the headphones. Not an album - an experience. Symphonic metal at its very best. Take a trip to Neverworld,s End -- a trip you,ll want to take often.
