Product Description

This book has all the best parts of romance and betrayal. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough - Jay Crownover, New York Times bestselling author

A powerful story that left me raw yet hopeful - K. A. Tucker, USA Today bestselling author

Ever since I was introduced to Monica Murphy's writing last year, however, I knew I could trust that she would handle this difficult subject matter with a sensitive touch and dignity. Which makes Never Tear Us Apart my first "I'd give it 6 stars if I could" 5-star rating of 2016. Yes, it's that good, and yes, it's done that well... This book reminds me of why I love to read... It's poetic, addresses difficult themes, and captures the essence of our fragility as humans and the strength love provides - Heroes & Heartbreakers

Murphy jumps into the world of suspense with a powerful story of friendship, trauma, coping and betrayal. The characters jump off the page into real life and will have readers gasping and feeling every emotion that they go through. Another amazing book to add to Murphy's already stellar library! - Romantic Times

Compelling. Addictive. Thrilling.

Monica Murphy’s newest release knocks it out of the park.

As soon as I read Monica’s note to her readers, I knew the subject matter would interest me. Situations like the main character Katie’s are abhorrent but they are unfortunately real. So how does such a person move on with their life? And for all people involved how does that affect them?

This book felt well researched, I believed every thought Katie had. Monica captured her thoughts and fears realistically. Even Ethan’s point of view was written perfectly. I hungered for this book as I read it, almost willing myself to read faster. I needed to know how it was all going to unfold but more importantly, I needed to know if Katie was going to be OK.

The book flips between the past and the present and sometimes this can be quite confusing or hard to keep up with but no other layout would have worked for this story. Katie and Katherine were truly two different people. Katie was an innocent twelve year old whereas Katherine was a survivor, albeit a struggling one, she survived nonetheless. I liked the way in which her past was slowly revealed to me, and it was weaved with the relevant parts of her future. Each chapter ended on a page-turner and I didn’t want to put this book down.

“I know in an instant I haven’t lost her. I’ve finally found her.”

I have read every single Monica Murphy book there is and Never Tear Us Apart is my favourite to date. I believe the original storyline got me hooked but I must say it was the flawless writing that bowled me over.

“Despite the warning bells clanging in my head, despite my knowing I’m tempting trouble and could end up hurting the both of us, I can’t stop. This has been years in the making.

5 - Only Us. Stars!

I am no stranger to Monica Murphy’s writing, in the past she has delivered up some absolutely stellar standalones and series. That said, I honestly can say that Never Tear Us Apart may well be her finest work to date. I think mainly because it is so different from what she has previously published, this is a book that pulls you in, and keeps you emotionally invested right up until the end.

This isn’t a fluffy romance, and at points it’s quite dark and gritty, a little uncomfortable to read, and it makes you think. Told from differing points of view, we get the ’Then’ and the ’Now’ but the storyline isn’t told in a straight time frame, Monica has dealt with splitting up Katie and Will’s past eight years, whilst integrating it at pertinent points, with Katherine’s current, and how her budding relationship with Ethan, is helping her rebuild herself into the woman she wants to be in the future.

I was violated in the worst way. Mentally. Emotionally. So much that the physical violation doesn’t even matter any longer.

As I said this book was difficult to read in parts, not because the author went into great detail of the things that Katie dealt with during her capture, although it isn’t glamourized either, but I just found myself so emotionally invested in the story, not to mention the characters that it was hard to separate from it at points. This is one of those books that sits with you even after you have put it down, and for me that highlights just how special it is.

Memories may fade, but they never really go away.

I received a ARC in exchange for a honest review.
5* read.
I love this authors work so I was beyond excited to get a ARC for this one. By the end I was dragged through such an emotional and beautiful story that even now I'm still processing it. It has a different feel to her other books and took you on a complete emotional journey that as a reader I completely invested in. This book does go between the past and present which usually in a book I don't like as I just get confused, but with this book the story needed to be told in that way and I didn't feel at all confused. My heart broke for Katie and Ethan but I loved the strong bond they shared and how their relationship as adults progressed. I don't want to give to much away but both characters have been through so much and the way this author wrote those really heartbreaking parts made me break for them and kept me reading throughout.
From the minute I picked up this story I didn't want to put it down. This is part of a 2 part series so it does end in a cliff-hanger. I can't wait for the second part to Katie and Ethan's story.

This was a great emotional read from Monica Murphy and it was completely different in a way to her other books.

The story is about Katherine Watts who at a very young age was subjected to something that no child should every encounter when was kidnapped at the age of 12. Will was her saviour, who saved her all them years ago. Now in order to help her move on Katherine does a tv interview to tell her side of the story. This is seen by Will (Ethan, his new identity) who knows he should stay away but he is just drawn to Katherine.

This was a very emotional read. It's not only a story of second chance love but it is underlined with betrayal and lies. The story is told from both of their POV's and it also switches between the past and the present. This is done very clearly by the author and I liked how it interweaved between the two. It is really well written and has a great pace. I was sucked in to the story early on and wanted to keep reading. This was one of those books where you are hoping for a HEA for characters but we need to wait for book 2 to see if they do. It's not a cliffhanger ending as such I don't think but it does end you wanting to read book 2 straightaway. The book does deal with some very difficult issues and I thought the author dealt very well them in the book.

Overall a great emotional read and I look forward to reading book 2.
