I've fallen in love with these books, alas I've also read all of the series in the last week. I found them funny, exciting and adrenalin pumped. The heroine is witty, tough and kicks butt in the worst of circumstances and she draws you in. I would highly recommend them to anyone who likes to sit down with a good book and escape (or get so drawn in that they give up sleep to read them). I really can't wait for the next one and will keep watching for it.

I down loaded this kindle version because I was bored & it was free!

Unlike many free kindle books with 'stunted' writing this book has been well writen & is a thoroughly good read. The only problem I had was putting it down to go to bed & resisting picking it up before breakfast.

The main character a middle aged modern single lady who knows how to DIY & swear, trying to start a new life. Sexy men, guns, fights & self doubt all mix in this read. I won't say much more as you have to figure out the plot yourself.

So download, grab a beer turn off your mobile and snuggle into your favourite chair (you'll be there a while) jump in and loose yourself in the pages.

Thanks Amazon for this cracking freebie. I look forward to reading the others in this series. I liked the heroines attitude to everything that was thrown at her, and the way the book came together was great. Several times I thought this must be the end but no there was more to come.

This was a free download, chosen because of the title, from which play on words I anticipated a 'chic-lit', wannabe thriller - boy, was I wrong! This heroine is the complete antithesis of the usual ditsy amateur, being instead the type of heroine whom I've longed to see for a number of years: she's middle-aged, competent at DIY tasks which would be beyond many men, intelligent, independent, sexually-experienced and not ashamed to admit to having sexual needs (as well as the odd little bit of fat around her middle, despite time in the gym, where she acknowledges she can't match the men, but still puts in the effort to be as fit as possible). She has her own career, in which she's very happy, and her earlier career interests prove to be of great use to her, too. Married twice, both experiences have made her what she is, but neither is dwelt on, simply explained at the relevant point in the story, then put away. She also has some specialist hobbies, which will no doubt stand her in good stead as the series develops. I'm also delighted to read that she's constantly hungry, and has no hang-ups about eating or drinking.

It took me a little time to come to grips with what was happening in the initial chapters, but the writing is taut, the action fast, and I couldn't put the book down. While I had no logical reason for deciding very early on in the story who one of the villains was to be, I think it was the power of the author's descriptions that made me dislike him, and that just shows Diane Herders' skill as a writer. The number of characters was comparatively small, and their basic characteristics make them readily identifiable, yet leave room to get to know them better in the future.

This is a book that is not easy to put down as it moves along excellently without distracting and unnecessary details that many successful writers seem fond of. I quickly identified with the main characters who were easy to get along with. The main character, the heroine, is delightfully tough and, at the same time vulnerable. Aydan Kelly is a one-off. She could, however, be described as something of a glutton and very sex-starved and, to use a male term: "gagging for it!" Sorry, ladies. It is so easy to fall in love with her. Will read the next one, "Never Say Spy." I hope the quality doesn't drop. Bill Franks (billfranks.co.uk where you can find disturbing tales with much less loveable characters!)

This book took some getting into but by golly after three chapters I was completely hooked and could not put it down, what an imagination this author has truly one of the best and I take some pleasing, read it and enjoy I'm about to purchase the next in the series?

A bit of a page turner this one. The main character is a Canadian woman skilled in self-defence, shooting and dry-walling who hasn't had sex in two years. She gets caught up in some spy nonsense which involves some hunky G-men and some thoroughly nasty baddies. The plot doesn't stand up to much scrutiny but the quality of writing invites a suspension of disbelief that carries the reader through to last page. Personally I won't be reading the sequels but if you're into Jane Bond chick-lit then you could do a lot worse.

I have to say, I cried with laughter at parts of this book- even reading some of it aloud to my husband who isn't interested in reading!! Fast paced and wittily written, our unfortunate heroine gets embroiled in an undercover security team's efforts to contain national security. A great read
