Yes, definitely a bad idea to read post-operatively - I nearly burst my stitches giggling at all of Abbie’s shenanigans, some of which are honestly hilarious! At one point my hubby thought I had seriously lost the plot, with tears streaming down my face. Concerned he asked if we should call the hospital to see the consultant sharpish and was rather relieved when I stressed that they were tears of laughter and not agony.
Abbie is such a likeable character, full of hope and kindness, despite an unfortunate tendency towards clumsiness that you root for her. In fact all of Ms. Fallowfield’s characters are thoroughly believable and the type you want to actually ‘get-to-know’ further, in this book and her others.
I honestly didn’t want Never the Bride to end; each time I tapped my e-reader for the next page I hoped it wasn’t the last and when it did sadly finish, Abbie and Miller stayed with me for weeks.
Someone sign this author up for a movie deal, please! It would make a wonderful Bridget Jones style caper, with an even dishier lead male (as Miller is far hotter than Mr Darcy in my opinion).
I can’t wait until book two in the series and more from this fabulous author and can highly recommend all of her books both under Charlotte Fallowfield and her second pen name C.J. Fallowfield. Just remember to read in private unless you're not bothered about receiving raised eyebrows from strangers when you laugh out loud, as you'll be doing it until your cheeks ache and your stomach muscles scream for mercy. ☺
Wow! I couldn't put this down! Never laughed so hard or cry at the same time!! OMFG I want to live in Dilbury Village!! Honestly I wouldn't be bored like EVER!!!!
Seriously Abbie and her tight knit friends are a HOOT!!! I just love Abbie, always wanting to the right, decent thing.... after all its a pact she made with a large group of friends from school.... funny thing it that she's not particular close to either of them, but a pact is a PACT.
Absolutely adore Daphne, Georgie, Charlie and Miller.... also poor Heath lol
I'm actually gutted that it came to an end but don't worry its a perfect happy ending for Abbie... If you want comedy with plenty of mischaps, (oh yeah that's the favourite of mine) laughter, tears and joy then look no further!!! PICK THIS ONE!!!! lol
Holy moly I'm so freaking EXCITED to the next one in this series, Georgie's story - The Getaway
Loved the characterisation. Can't wait to find out what happens in book #2.
