I have two Nespresso machines, this one and a http://www.amazon.co.uk/Nespresso-Inissia-Coffee-Capsule-Machine/dp/B00J5W985W/ref=sr_1_7?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1415389832&sr=1-7&keywords=nespresso+red

As Nespresso staff are only too willing to point out, where there are Krups and Magimix versions of any particular model, the two brands are manufactured to the same functional specification in the same factory. Any differences are purely aesthetic, most commonly spout shape, casing pattern and machine colour.

Mine both happen to be Krups branded.

In terms of the quality and taste of the coffee produced and the time to brew, there is nothing to separate the Citiz and Inissia machines.

The choice of model essentially comes down to size, weight, the size of the water dispenser and used capsule container and, frequently, appearance.

The Citiz is the larger, but quieter of the two machines. It has a larger water container but smaller used capsule container than the Inissia. The Citiz lives on my kitchen counter.

The smaller, lighter Inissia is the one I take to and from work in a shoulder bag.

Setup
- On unpacking the machine, follow the setup procedure in the owner's manual (2 minutes)
- Check the calibration of the espresso and lungo shots.

Actually purchased this item over two years ago now, and it is still going strong! We make perhaps 4 coffees a day with our CitiZ, and have always used filtered water (the local water is very hard) – using a couple of descaling kits a year has kept the machine happy. The CitiZ is pretty small, and sits unobtrusively on the kitchen counter. You can be drinking a great espresso (recommend the Kazaar!) within about 30 seconds, even from a cold, switched off, machine.

Took me a while to cotton on to the Nespresso popularity, only after seeing a few people I know making great coffee did I finally order this.
What strikes first is the overall build quality; its very sturdy and simply laid out, the quality of the paint (red) is excellent and is the same shade used on the retro toasters and kettles if your into matching appliances.

All the parts that may come into contact with liquid/coffee are easily detachable and washable, with the liquid catcher where the cup is placed easily cleaned.
The ease of use is also a big thing when having your own coffee machine, you just insert the capsule in the top, close it and press espresso/lungo button - espresso being smaller and lungo larger, though the flows are all customisable.

Its a machine that sees constant use with no sign of it slowing down after nearly 2 years, the only upkeep that is needed apart from cleaning after each use and emptying the used capsules is a descale job every few months which is very easy to do.
It really is an investment, as you are automatically apart of the Nespresso club where you can buy the exclusive coffee capsules, in which there are 16 varieties of all different strengths. It will cost more a month than instant coffee but it is 100x the quality so it is completely worth it in every sense. So just be aware of how much you have left so you can keep topping them up.

And in the end you can make the coffee how every you like; every instruction is adaptable and changeable depending on how you like your coffee.

Easy, convenient and quality

This is my first Nespresso machine, after being a Gaggia user for several years. It blows my previous machine away in terms of size (very neat footprint), convenience (the main reason for me changing), and most importantly, quality of coffee.

From a convenience point of view, it's a quick to make coffee as instant and there's virtually no maintenance apart from flushing once with water (i.e. you press a button) when you're done. The speed of the whole process, together with no need for washing up makes it possible for me to actually have a coffee made and drunk in the morning while feeding a 1 year old.

The quality of the coffee has surpassed my expectations, and I'm pretty picky. The variety of coffees available from Nespresso means you can find several you like (my wife and I each have our favourites, and can have our own choice every time) to match your mood.

It looks great too.

I didn't bother with the version with the milk frother, as I've found a manual Bodum frother works better, costs less than a tenner, and takes less space in the kitchen too.

The only drawback is the need to buy relatively expensive capsules from Nespresso (a touch over 30p a pop after postage), and wait for them to be delivered. Also, if you like a latte, you might need two shots in there, as one is a bit puny for me. They are very professional and quick though, and the convenience more than offsets the price for me.

All in all, I'm so delighted with this machine I've just ordered a second Nespresso machine for work.
