Brilliant book! Loved Rimmel and Romeo :D
The #NERD book is first book in new series by Cambria and I have to say that I fell in love with it!

The book is written from POV of two main characters: Rimmel and Romeo. Rimmel is a typical clumsy, closed and shy nerd, but she is cute. And I don't mean from her appearance, but from her kindness. She was not happy with her new task of tutoring the most popular guy on the campus. I love her unconditional love for animals and I think the thing that she wants to be a vet is amazing. We can see through the book how she is changing from closed and distrustful girl with a history, to a girl who is love and finally is able to make friends.

Romeo...ah Romeo....at the beginning I wasn't a huge fan of him, but as the book went more in depth with his personality and his life, "friends" in general I felt for him. At the beginning you see a popular star of college football team, for whom there are only 3 things that are important: get into NFL, get into Frat House on the campus and getting laid. And with the last one he doesn't have any problems as girls are chasing him. So being tutored 3 times a week is not something he needs. Like at all.

As the story progress we see that both characters are changing and all their insecurities are much more complicated than what we would think at the beginning.

I recommend this books and I can't wait for the next part! Roll on January 2015! :D

2.5 - 3* - I didn't hate this book. It's way too NA/YA for me and I won't continue with the series. It reminded me of that teen flick She's All That

I strongly recommend After Math (Off the Subject Book 1) by Denise Grover Swank if you want to read a book featuring a strong, intelligent studious heroine tutoring a Jock. It's far more mature, realistic and well written with a flaming hot love story.

This story just relied heavily on clichés featuring a Poor-Unpopular-"Nerdy"-Girl with a SAD PAST (boohoo) falling in love with the Popular-Rich-Handsome-PLAYBOY-Jock who rejects all the girls on campus (and beyond) and chooses Poor-Unpopular-"Nerdy"-Girl because apparently she's The Only Girl On Campus Who Isn't Superficial and Isn't Falling Over Herself To be With Him... **rolls eyes**

The Characters

Heroine: Rimmel aka Poor-Unpopular-"Nerdy"-Girl with a SAD PAST is your classic cliché unpopular girl who JUST DOESN'T KNOW HOW PRETTY SHE IS, who hides her good looks and winning personality behind baggy clothes, large glasses and a loner lifestyle.

She's such a Poor-Little-Thing that her only friend is an abandoned cat called Murphy (whom she encountered when she began volunteering at an animal shelter - her only form of social activity - yes you can't get a bigger sob story than this Woe-Betide-Me inane heroine).

When she's pressed into tutoring the Hero aka Popular-Rich-Handsome-PLAYBOY-Jock she's constantly swooning, falling over herself and bumping into things (because it's so endearing... **rolls eyes**).

******WARNING - Some possible spoilers ahead******

I must have been living under a rock for the last couple of years because I’ve only recently discovered the Hashtag series and Cambria Hebert. Still, I guess it’s better late than never, right?!

Anyhoo, because these books roll right into the next, this review is for all THREE of Romeo & Rimmel’s books in the Hashtag series; #Nerd, #Hater and #Player - ALL of which are five star books in their own right and as a series within a series. I know they also feature heavily in #Heart, but as all four characters (with Ivy and Braeden) have their POV told in that, I’ll write that review separately.

So I’ve now actually read these books three times, and every single time I fall in love with Romeo and Rimmel all over again. Then again, how could I not? These characters are unbelievably well written and not at all what I was expecting. I loved watching how R&R’s relationship developed over the course of all three books, and also how their relationships changed with the people around them. The drama is packed into the pages and there’s enough twists and turns (and crazy!) to keep you guessing, and praying, they get their happily ever after in the end. I really loved Braeden’s relationship with Rimmel too, the whole BBFL thing was just beyond cute! Then again, I also laughed out loud at the scene where B hands her over to Romeo like a rag doll with her feet just dangling.

There’s laughter, friendship and love to be found in this series, and they’re books I know I’ll reread over and over again for a very long time to come. Truly fantastic books, written by an incredibly talented author.

So for anyone like me that has yet to experience this amazing series, I highly recommend you go hit that one-click!

This was my first Cambria Hebert book, I loved it.
This is a story about Romeo and Rimmel, a Jock and a Nerd from completley different social circles falling in love. I was hooked and drawn in from the get go, I just couldn't put it down I almost forgot that it was time for me to pick my children up from school I was engrossed in their journey. Did I think he was a douche to begin with then hell yeah but for me that added to his whole charm. I thought Rimmel was a little bit irritating at first with her STUDY RULES but she also amused me, and I was excited when we got the a little insight in to her life before and why she was the way she was. I loved this book so much I know for sure this will be my go-to book. Deserves more than just 5stars.
