Neon Helix is a veritable treasure trove of Cyberpunk: unethical corporations, rogue AI, cloning, PIs and journalists, stratified society, and a blurring of biology and technology. The neon-soaked world perfectly encapsulates 'high tech, low life'.
As a story, Whitaker sets up a range of different threads which are then brought together, largely successfully. The ending is a little overcomplicated for my liking, but there is always a lot going on and I found myself devouring page after page and chapter after chapter.
A couple more passes of proof-reading would have helped eliminate some stray punctuation and spelling, but this didn't massively impact the enjoyment of reading Neon Helix.
A solid effort which I would be happy to recommend to any fan of Cyberpunk or Science Fiction.
