I love this series, with each book it just gets better and I really don't want it to end. As always this book is easily read as a standalone however it makes sense to read the series in order to enjoy it fully.
We've met Tori in the previous books yet we never really got to know her so I was glad to read her story and get to understand her character. Tori is the steadfast friend of everyone that has seen them all through their ups and downs but now she is left on the outskirts of coupledom. She deserves her own HEA, however her choice of bedmate makes that seem unlikely.
Landon is a douche and a proud one at that, he is the sofa dwelling twin of Liam, Tori's boss who she has an unrequited crush on. He is a doctor who should be a catch but he should also come with his own health warning and has major issues that have landed him on his brothers settee.
When Tori's plan to make a play for Liam backfire she finds herself in Landons sights. And when he makes a proposal for them both to get away from their issues with a holiday in Bali on him Tori throws caution to wind. However Landons issues are too big to just run away from and soon escalete causing them both big problems and Tori soon realises nothing is ever really free.
This is a much darker story than the rest of the series and takes us on an emotional rollercoaster like no other. You will want to shake these two and the next minute hug them. Tori and Landon shouldn't work but their hidden vulnerabilities make them want to work and you will be fighting along with them too.
My absolute favourite in this series that I'm so not ready to end.
I adored Tori before as the awesome bestie of Katya and was definitely my fave of the two of them. I loved this story, getting to know the real Tori behind what we've seen so far, lovestruck for Liam and unable to act on it while slowly breaking apart, until she tells him exactly what's up. But what happens when its the wrong twin? Landon is gorgeous but a drug addict, a jerk and the embodiment of "Bad Boy"....hot damn though I LOVED his character, that dark edge to him got me all hot and bothered. He was such an unredeemable character but there was this little spark that kept me interested and wondering.
The plot to this was fantastic, it was a slow dance to begin with but then the pace picked up and I was sucked in and blown away. This was so different to the other books in the series and while I originally had book 3 as my favourite this one beat it hands down, they just keep getinng better! It was such an intense and emotional story, my heart was racing and I was totally addicted to the plot and the characters.
Lets just say I was team Eden before just for Liam but I think I need a joint first place, cant love one and not the other. Wow!
In my opinion this has been the best book of the series!
Through the series, Landon, has been an absolute nasty piece of work and he continues in this theme here. Planning to use Tori, the girl who loved his twin from afar, for his own illegal purposes, he offers her a getaway, that she hopes will refresh and strengthen her.
And thus begins an amazing tale.
The fight Landon has going on with himself and everyone else, Tori included, is almost as epic as the chemistry between them.
Somehow, he develops morals/a conscience, and the whole situation unfurls, right versus wrong, love versus...well, being the man he was.
Fantastic characters. Excellent writing and plot. Brilliant!
Tori is everyone's friend, she's loyal and supportive, always there for her friends. She's fun and intelligent, running Liam's bar better than he can, she's sassy and fiesty, and gives back as good as she gets. She's been lusting after Liam for ages, but he's now off the market and she is mega upset. Landon offers her to chance to go away from it all with him for a week or so, he's paying so why not?
Landon is Liam's twin brother, and as different from him as he could possibly be. He's bad news. He's a doctor with a drug and alcohol problem. He's a mega a*****e, full of himself, arrogant, cold, nasty, rude - but undeniably hot and sexy. He's everything that Tori doesn't need, but when in bed together, he sets her world on fire - aggressive, dominant and controlling, sexy times with Landon takes her mind off everything else!!
This book brought out a huge array of emotions!! Its quite an angsty read, at times I was heartbroken, at times I was mad as hell!! The banter between Landon and Tori had me laughing out loud at time, she gave him as good as she got, which was a lot!! Landon really annoyed me at the beginning but by the end of the book I was struggling to keep my tears in check!!
Brilliant characters with a fabulous storyline, which was very intense and quite dark at times. The situations they find themselves in was enough to make your toes curl!! A brilliant addition to the series, not sure if there will be any more after this one. Highly recommended 5 star reading.
