Another great book by Avery Flynn and I received this book in exchange for a honest review.

Advert:

Wanted: Personal Buffer

A very often snarly, crazy, workaholic executive seeks a “buffer” from all very crazy and annoying outside distractions; for example people. All free spirits with very personal boundary issues, total excessive quirks, or even general squeamishness had need not apply. The salary can be negotiable. Confidentiality required at all times.

Meet workaholic billionaire Sawyer Carlyle. Sawyer may have joked that he needed a “buffer” from their overly marriage-obsessed mom. However Sawyer didn’t need to see a waiting room filled with “potential candidates” to totally further distract him. (Cheers Bro, thanks a lot for dropping me into this mess.) Suddenly when a sexy job applicant throws his mom and also the socialite in tow out of his office, Sawyer sees the genius of the plan and thanks his lucky stars it didn't get any more dramatic for him. the woman who helped him out, was in fact, the sexy Miss Clover Lee. Clover might just get one of the fastest promotions in history. That will take her from buffer to fake fiancé…

This sexy. “free-spirit” might seem like hot sunshine and very lickable rainbows. Clover negotiates good and real hard like a pitbull. Suddenly before Sawyer even knows what just hit him. Sawyer’s actually agreed to give up Friday nights for boring reality tv. Sawyer's Saturdays for flea markets (why any sane person buys junk still baffles him). Sawyer's, Tuesdays and Thursdays are still for “date nights” ( in other words it's panty-losing opportunities; only if he plays his cards right). Now Clover wants lavender bath salts and beautiful tulips delivered every Monday?

Yeah you got it right.

Clover the girl who's running from anything and everything that might turn her into her mum, a small town person with no dreams.
Sawyer the business man with his big pictures of life all mapped out need help keeping his mother from finding him a wife.
They meet when she applies for the position as a buffer. Instantly attracted to each other but both afraid to say.
Is it a laugh out loud book no but a fun read.

A great story with lots of laughs, plenty of tender moments and some fun erotic scenes. The characters were perfect, Clover was quirky, fun and realistic. Sawyer was sexy and real as well - he wasn't a perfect Alpha male, he came across as a normal guy. The supporting characters were excellent too. I enjoyed every moment and look forward to reading Every Flynn's other work.

Well written love story definitely made me smile a lot, wish they'd been more at the end and not the jump to years ahead after the proposal.

I cannot believe this is my first time reading a book by Avery Flynn, I think I had her mixed up with another author. Anyhow, it may be my first time but it certainly won't be my last.

The Negotiator had all the elements I love in a romance (apart from the romance obviously) the characters were well-developed and fun, their interactions were believable and realistic and their relationship progressed organically.

Sawyer is a workaholic, he takes his role as CEO of his family's company very seriously, more so since the sudden death of his father. The Carlyle's were a very close family prior to the patriarchs death, now Sawyer's life completely revolves around work. His mother, while having his best interests at heart, attempts to find him the perfect wife in order to balance Sawyer's focus. Sawyer is afraid to upset her following her struggle with her grief so he finds himself in need of a buffer between himself and his mother to put a stop to the endless parade of wanna-be Mrs Sawyer's. So when his younger brother, Hudson, hatches a plan to employ a person to act as a go-between Sawyer finds himself with a new assistant/buffer in the shape of Clover.

On the surface you would be forgiven for dismissing Clover as flighty, a free spirit and an air-head. However, looks (and her resume) can be deceiving, as soon as you start to look below the surface there is a lot more to Clover then meets the eye.

Clover has made it her life's mission to be nothing like her mother, who she views as trapped into a small-town and has lacked adventure. Clover has a very narrow view of her mothers life, which is also explored within the narrative, how we misjudge the circumstances by projecting our own insecurities onto the situation.
