This will not be for anyone though Imagine the only people even looking are people in to this kind of music. The music on this album is extremely fast paced and volatile, Performed with a technicality unbeknownst to most humans the album is filled with blast beats and searing guitar and Violent vocals. It hammer relentlessly at pace with exceeding technical ability for such a young group of musicians. The band made head turn on the release of their debut when the drummer was only 14 I think it was. The drumming on the album is of particular note because it is so extremely technical. ON this album the band have introduced an element of groove much to the char grin of death metal purist. don't let this put you off though it is a well put together and composed album. I would advise listening on youtube if you are new to death metal and looking to explore music as this won't be to everyones test but the sheer musicianship alone should be enough for musicians at least to appreciate it.

Decapitated are one of the best death metal bands on the planet . Not only that but they have talent that is far beyond belief , and this is shown on their 3rd album "The Negation". Their last two albums were absolutly amazing but this one is even better. The Album kicks off with "The Fury", with crushing riffs and blasting beats, and it doesn't stop there. "Three Dimensional Defect", probably the best track on the album, shows what this band are really capable of. Title track "The Negation" is more of an 'epic' sounding track with a similar tempo to "Spheres Of Madness" (from 'Nihility') but still really heavy and brutal. This Album won't dissapiont, if you love death metal then you'll love this album.

this GENIUS album is out of print for some reason so you'll have to buy it from Germany or somewhere off eBay. I mean, Amazon (ahem). And buy it you must, as after a couple of listens this album opens up into the most robotic, unrelenting death metal masterwork with guitar riffs that stick in your head. The vocals and guitar tie up with the drums in some very clever ways and the drumming is absolutely spot-on. 'The Fury', 'Lying and Weak', this album has NO filler tracks and deserves to be heard!

After a rather long 3 year gap Decapitated return with their 3rd album, and in the time they have been away the band have certainly changed. The Negation is still chock-full of great death metal, but the exuberance of youth has given way to a more mature outfit. As such there is far less hyper-speed shredding on this album, and many more mid-tempo songs. While this may be a more fully rounded album than it's predecessors (and incidentally sounds even more like Vader than ever before) the bottom line is that the killer riffs that dominated the fantastic Nihility have given way to more groove-based guitar lines, which is a shame as far as I am concerned. Make no mistake, the Negation is still a superior slab of death metal, and recommended for any fans of the genre, but compared to the bands previous albums this comes across as just a little generic. It's almost inevitable that any death metal bands that stay together long enough will slow down and 'mature', but I can't help thinking that with a few more blistering tracks like Lying and Weak, and a few less mid-tempo plodders like The Negation and The Empty Throne this would have been a better album. The Negation is a very good death metal album - but it's no classic of the genre.
(NB - If you can search out the initial pressing of this CD, which comes with a bonus Deicide cover version)

Well, the mighty Decapitated return with their third album, the follow up to their already classic Nihility and and Winds Of Creation. This time around tho, they seem to have taken a different approach to song writing. Gone are the rimbly, almost melodic stopstart riffs, to be replaced by far simpler, straightforward monsters. While still a fantastic young band who are maturing superbly, for me, this is a step in the wrong direction, the reason i LOVED their first album was due to its inventiveness, which, tho not removed completely has been left in favour of more pure brutality. While fans of straightup death metal will rally round this state of the art thrash fest, the more technically minded amongst you would be better to stick with the first LP.
