The quality is nothing exceptional, but for my purposes it's fine. I shoot film mostly with vintage equipment specifically to get away from the sterile perfection of digital, and the slight imperfections of these filters add to the low-tech old-school feel of B&W film photography.
My one significant complaint is that there's no calibration information for exposure compensation. I prefer to use a hand-held meter for film photography and without the exact values I had to figure it out on my own. Based on some quick experimentation:
Green: +1 1/3
I'd suggest doing your own calibration before doing anything critical.
The threads do not seem to bind and the metal ring seems manufactured to good tolerances. However, after experimenting with these for many settings and even stacking multiple ones, I have been able to replicate the color effects digitally. I still believe that at this price, it would be a nice learning tool for people trying to learn cinematography. They come in a very very nice Velcro-secured foldable pouch.
See picture I uploaded with one of several pages with my experiments with these filters. You may contact me via dediegoart.com for more information.
